<p>It’s my top out of 2. Due to the fact that I decided not to go out of state for college becuase of the expense and I would be so indecisive if I did.

<p>My S applied EA as well, one of top picks. Loved SMU! Website says EA applicants will have a decision by the end of December. Anyone know how decisions are communicated, email, website, snail mail? Good luck to all!!</p>

<p>My D received it Mon. 12/20. We live in the Mid-Atlantic area and I know some kids who live closer to Dallas received theirs a couple of days earlier. Good luck!! It’s such an amazing school!!</p>

<p>and yes I have heard that alot of the EA decisions are received on the 20th even though the website says the 31st. and only by mail is what I have been told.

<p>The wait is agonizing. I’m an SMU alum and SMU is S’s first choice. It is an awesome school! I was accepted to 5 top 10 law schools after graduating from SMU.</p>
<p>The draw to SMU was the size of the school. Campus is fantastic and you can’t beat “The Parks”. Reputation wise, SMU can’t compete with VA Tech and Purdue in the science and engineering programs (my major). Also, both Tech and Purdue have big time college athletics (Big 10/ACC) so you have a lot revolving around football and basketball during the Fall/Winter months. Accepted to Virginia Tech and Purdue so if SMU doesn’t accept me, I will not be heartbroken. I’m a NC resident and surprisingly dislike UNC…I’m a bit too conservative for the “People’s Republic of Chapel Hill” . Additionally, no engineering program.</p>
<p>I applied Early Action and I can’t wait to hear! I live in the Midwest so I’m hoping it isn’t delayed. It would be a much happier Christmas if I could look at that acceptance letter. Why is SMU your guy’s first or second choice? I can’t decide where it is on my list, I change my list every couple of days.</p>

<p>Posted this on one of the other threads, but the decisions will be going out a little later than last year. Everyone should have their admissions decision and scholarship offer by late in the month.</p>
<p>My daughter did - SMU is her TOP choice out of a dozen. She will be heartbroken if she doesn’t get in. She has been checking the mailbox and speaking with the mailman daily since Dec. 1! I’ll let her know not to expect anything before the 20th …

<p>I posted this on another thread just now but what I heard is that the first mailing went out yesterday and the last mailing is going out on the 23rd -before admissions office goes on vacation. The thing I don’t know is how they prioritize the mailings- geographically, alphabetically or by admissions counselor. It would be so great to know before Christmas! Good luck to everyone!</p>
