Anyone here applying to MedStart at Wayne State University

Who here is applying and how confident do you feel?
I still need to mail my stuff in.

Well, I doubt anyone is feeling very confident. The program is very competitive. Good luck.

The thing is that I'm feeling very pretty good about it.

is there in state preference to this school/ how competitive is it (number applied/number accepted)?

250 for 15 seats.
Only like three people OOS have gotten in over four years.

It's more like 13 spots because two are reserved for UP students.

are you applying?

No, I'm already in college.

bump...........

wait, only 3 spots over the last four years for out of state? which programs are actually do able to make?

well most people from OOS don't want to go to Wayne...

If I understand your question correctly, most programs do not favor in-state students. The school the program is at may favor in-staters (i.e. a state school), but the actual program does not factor in state residency. Wayne State and NEOUCOM are a few examples of schools that DO favor IS students.

just to give you applicants a heads up, this program is very competitive, the interview is not a traditional interview and can mess up even the best of candidates

can you elaborate on "not a traditional interview"?

^The first interview you do is a group interview. I believe it is usually with 50 other people and they talk to you about different things. It can be tough to get your voice heard...the interview tends to be dominated by a few people. If you make it past the first interview, you get to do a one on one. This is not exactly how things work, but it should give you an idea.

were you part of the fifty before?

bump.......

bump...
did anyone else apply?

bump.........

who else here received interviews for this program
