Anyone here waiting for Early Action?

Kevin-What were your son’s stats?

Kevin-What were your son’s stats?

35 ACT, 2330 SAT, SAT II Physics, Math 2, Chemistry all 800
4s and 5s on his AP tests. 4.149 GPA

My D got her big white packet yesterday in the mail finally! She’s so happy!
We’re planning a visit in February to audition for the Orchestra and meet the Track Coach, looking forward to seeing what it’s like when students are there.

My D got enough of a scholarship to make it feasible. An early Christmas present.

Congratulations everyone! Good news all round! Now I hope everyone can relax and have a great vacation. Maybe see you next year . .

I got mine in the mail on Christmas Eve, but unfortunately, the scholarship was less than half of what my other two schools are giving me, and is not affordable. Sad day…

Same issue Sampoww22. It was 15k a year less than Knox and Cornell College are offering. And 12k less than Wooster.

My son applied regular decision, as the coaches with the track and field/croos country program contacted him directly and gave him a fee waiver for the app. But, since he applied, he has landed two, full tuition rides at southern schools. While he wants to compete while in college, turning down those offers would be very difficult.

I also worked with the cross country coach.

My son got his acceptance note today. Nice merit scholarship worth $18K. We will see if he is interested in making a visit there sometime this spring.

If he decides to visit in the Spring, have him set up to meet/have lunch with some kids from the team. Our daughter is one of them. I’m sure it could be arranged-Lawrence is very personal in that way. Although we never anticipated this, being on the Viking team has been a vital part of her experience at Lawrence. We laugh about it now-she choose LU for the dual degree and the scholarship but all we ever hear about is running and her teammates!

We are visiting Lawrence at the end of February so my D can audition for an Ensemble Award. Through the track Coach she arranged to have an overnight visit with a student on the track team and is having lunch with the Coach.
clarinet13mom, I’m glad to hear your daughter is enjoying the team so much, my D has enjoyed being on the track and xc teams in HS and is really looking forward to continuing in college. Lawrence was one of the places where it looks like she will be able to do that as well as continue to play her cello while pursuing her studies (she is not majoring in music). It sounds like it is working out ok for your D to balance music and running at Lawrence? How is she faring with this amazing winter weather? We’re looking forward to our visit in February just hoping we get a little lucky with the weather!

Good Luck to you and your daughter, cellomom2. Our daughter has been busy but is balancing running and music and the people at Lawrence are very supportive. The winter weather is part of life there and they seem to cope with it. When you’re young, it’s a different story!

Although my son was flattered with the nice merit offer and a chance to run for Lawrence, he decided last week that he will take a full tuition offer and a spot on a D2 team in the south. Perhaps he will see Lawrence at a big meet next fall. Best of luck to all.

So excited - D just got her acceptance letter with a nice scholarship offer. This was early on one of our favorite schools. It was her very first acceptance letter, too, so she’s very happy!

Congratulations to your D Shellybean!

Congrats! We are all fans of Lawrence on here…keep us posted!

I applied RD and got my acceptance today  Got a 20k merit

^ Congrats!

I was accepted EA with two scholarships (one for $22,000 per year and the other for $2,000 per year). Lawrence seems pretty generous with merit aid!
