I got accepted to Pitts, and the only college that i got accepted...
However, i chose Politcal S. as my major. But i don't even know what kinda career available if i majored in Politcal Science, so can anyone help..?
Thanx a lot.

podp,

I didn't major at poli sci at Pitt, but I do have more than enough experience in the field to say a few things about it...

Poli sci is a broad field that has many potential applications. The joke, however, is that the "broad applications are retail, waiting tables, telemarketing, and middle management."

Okay, bad poli sci jokes aside, some will actually go work for governments, others will do NGO work, I know some who did military work for some time, and I have one friend who went to law school.

It's not a degree that pigeonholes you, that's for sure.

My friend majored in politcal science at Pitt. He ended up getting a Master's in hospital management and is now in charge of public relations at a local hospital. When picking an undergraduate degree, do what you love. Don't worry about a career when you're 18. If you take classes in things that interest you, things will start to fall together. And you can always go to graduate school, regardless of your undergrad major.

how is the Pitt IR dept. ?
