Anyone interested in CUE?

Columbia Urban Experience

Columbia Urban Experience: A pre-orientation program from Aug.22-Aug.29
Live on campus, do community service in the city, befriend fellow freshmen
The fee is $300, and there's a 5 question app form. Deadline is Jun.10.

I'm thinking about going, but not sure yet since I'm international and I want to arrive with the huge mass of freshmen/international students to make my settlement easier (I'll have to basically buy everything from bed linen and lamp to shampoo, so I figure it's better to do it with other people)

But anyway, wanna see if anyone on CC is also applying...

Do CUE or COOP, it is a huge huge boost socially - international or not, 95% of people who do these get off to a great start coming into orientation already knowing 30-50 people. I know international kids who did CUE and others who did coop - the fact that they were international did not make any difference to how positive their experience was. Buying bed linen, lamp and shampoo is all highly straightforward - just come 12-48 hours early and you’ll be able to set up everything basic you need just fine.

there’ll be time to fine tune and decorate during orientation and after.

Go for COOP- you’ll have plenty of time to explore the city, so why not go hiking?

I’m a PE ■■■■■■ =( though rafting sounds like so much fun!

You don’t need to be athletic to have fun on COOP.
