I think I remember reading somewhere that internationals move in a bit earlier than the normal move-in day. Does this mean there is like a mini-pre-orientation for internationals or do you just bum around for a couple of days? Otherwise does anyone know if many internationals try for the CUE? I'm thinking COOP would be good fun but probably a bit of a hassle bringing tent pegs and thermal underwear etc. on the plane.

CUE? Quoi?

Columbia Urban Experience. It's like a week of volunteering and getting to know NYC.

I didn't know that it's restricted to international students.

CUE isn't, if that's what you mean.

yea, you have a pre-nsop thing you will do for a couple of days

Thanks for this. Does that mean CUE isn't really worth it for internationals seeing as we get a pre-orientation anyway?

CUE isnt the same as orientation. CUE and COOP are just little "adventures" you go on and either spend time with people outdoors or spend time with people doing community service

orientation is literally to get you oriented and introduced to life at school

pre-orientation for internationals? Am I missing something again?

Haha pearfire :P

CUE is probably a waste of time. If I remember correctly, it's coming a week early, paying a little bit of cash, and being whisked around the city and I think you might even do little jobs around the place like community work? (This might be another program but I thinkkkk it's CUE) In other words, you'll have plenty of time to do that kinda thing.

Head over to the CUE website, I guess.
