ANyone Interview?

Just wondering what the interview was like, questions asked etc.?

It’s nothing to get stressed out over. My interviewer was really friendly and wanted me to do well; I understand most are that way. They generally go over standard stuff, like GPA, extracurriculars (why you do them/what you’ve taken from them), course rigor, senior schedule, why you’re interested in Holy Cross. Then they normally throw in some weird curveball question (if you were an animal, what kind of animal would you be/other goofy ones like that :P). They’re meant to be funny, so don’t feel like you can’t laugh when they ask you. Just be friendly, and be yourself. Don’t come off as pompous (which I’ve noticed many people on this site tend to do <_<).

Good luck! I really recommend taking one, as it’s pretty important in their decision-making (although not crucial).

Thanks. Will be going next Tuesday. I’ve already visited campus (last year) and look forward to going back. I think it is a big reach for me, but you never know. I will not be submitting SATs. UW GPA is 90.66 (3.6ish?), will have 6 AP’s, some honors. Pretty much everything but math/science will have been AP or honors. I"m pretty terrible in math / science, hence the SAT optional route LOL.

Recs, essay, should be good. EC’s are also OK I think.

you’ll be great. share your passion for this great school. honest enthusiasm and drive for the uniqueness of the place really shows in the interview. you’re about to join an incredibly terrific institution.

I interviewed at HC, and it was no big deal. My interview was with an alumni and she based the interview mostly off what I had written down on the sheet just before the interview- mostly about my classes, and ec’s and why holy cross made it to my college list. Its one of my top choices! good luck!
