<p>I'm a pretty fierce MUN'er, but Acad Team is AWESOME 2 years going strong:) It's a huge deal in NOVA, well among those that participate! I'm not sure if it's big everywhere though lol. I've never seen a CC'er be into Acad, but it's like jeopardy, and it's so addictive!!!! Our season wrapped up really early this year, but soph year we took district, which was awesome! This year, we came in 4th in district because of this freakishly awesome school, but there's always next year.</p>

<p>You must be in the PWCS, where it’s large. I want to participate in it, definitely doing it next year, along with MUN and robotics.</p>

<p>Yeah, it’s big here too in Loudoun county. I wasn’t on the the team last year in 9th grade, but was on the JV squad this year and will be on varsity next year.</p>

<p>I want to win districts with my team next year. We lost all our seniors, and my school graciously regards me as the savior of academics.</p>
<p>It’s super fun, I tried out, but couldn’t make both days.</p>
<p>I LOVE ACADEMIC TEAM!! I’m probably one of the craziest people at my school for it, organizing extra study groups outside of school, making t-shirts…yeah.
It’s called “In the Know” where I live and it’s pretty competitive.

we won our local school league this year(like 10 schools), placed 2nd in a radio show
made it to 4th round at districts.</p>
<p>Academic Team is so much fun! 
We won counties this year, but our star is graduating… We did do a statewide competition without him and didn’t do so badly, though. We even got to be on this tri-state TV program which was really cool. I can’t wait for next year’s season!</p>
<p>I’m my teams captain, BUT the problem is that we are in the same district (and region) as Maggie Walker so we always come in 2nd in district, 2nd in regions and this year we came in 5th in state</p>
<p>We just call our academic team Quiz Team. But it’s the best.
Did any of you guys go to NAQT nationals in Chicago last week? I think we did okay, like, top 25, since LASA B narrowly beat us (halfway on account of timer mistake/my not paying attention on the Puccini question/my teammate – who is generally way, way better than I am – answering on a q that I was waving him down on/other stuff) in a match that would have put us in the top 17. We came in 3rd in the state behind two really great teams and just above another which is always fun in competitions.
I think I’d like to do it in college, but I haven’t heard very much (read: nothing) about MIT’s team. Apparently Harvard is good? So my former teammate might be beating me now if we compete.</p>
<p>Our school’s former team got crushed by a guy who later went on to graduate top of his class at Harvard.</p>

<p>Huh, I’m on TPHS Frosh team. Apparently it was ranked 1st nationally or something. However, I don’t know how I got in 10 man team out of 600 freshman, with 50 that tried out; I’m a chess player, taking 5 minutes to a think of a deep move, but I’m not a very quick minded person. They say that I was their science/math/grammar person. Plus, I’m not that enthusiastic about these things, since you don’t see the beauty-the human experience of learning something-if you just shove it down your throat (or mind) like medicine. Guess I should feel proud for making the team, but not for the process of gaining knowledge or being tested on it like this.</p>
