Anyone into UW Honors yet?

hey I just got into NYU today also, goldenglaze. and I got into UW honors, but as has been previously stated, your stats are MUUUUCH better than mine, and so it doesn’t make any sense. I’m very sorry. :(

Veggiegirl- where do you live? I’m in CA and have been waiting FOREVER!!! Ahhh

I’m in southeast washington so that may be why I got it today- my friend got hers today too. you’ll prolly get something tomorrow limabean. good luck!

haha thanks:) I’m thinking tomorrow’s the day.

Just curious. Big or small envelope? haha.

^ limabean it is a small envelope. I thought it was a rejection letter.
But, I guess they just use all same envelope for both rejection and acceptance.

Wow! I got in! I was NOT expecting that!!!

I’m also just got into Berekely. Now I have no idea what to choose!

yay limabean22  congrats!

Now I’m too scared to go check mailbox today :(

Waitlisted :(!

gl92 and ajitx0- good luck! (I hope you get off the wait list!)

So basically I need to come visit ASAP. Anyone have input about this vs. UC Berkeley? Obviously Berkeley is an incredible school but I LOVE Seattle/UW/the idea of an honors program. Small classes, lots of benefits… who else knows more about it?

And… will there be tours/admit days available soon?

There are info sessions for admitted honors students on April 2nd, 5th, 9th and 12th

Berkeley, by a mile.

So is everyone here that will be attending UW choosing honors? I’ve looked at how my AP credits will be affected and I’ll have roughly the same loss of AP credits (roughly 15) as the difference in required credits between the Honors Core+departmental Honors and the regular Areas of Knowledge (45-47 + 9-15 compared to 75 minus the 15 AP credits.) So I’m not at a disadvantage credit-wise by doing honors. My only issue right now is finding out whether you can use Calc AB credits for Calc 124, counting it towards quantitative/symbolic reasoning instead of the Areas of Knowledge.

Even if I can’t use my Calc credits, I think I will be choosing honors. Next I have to decide whether or not I want honors housing…

limabean, go to Berkeley. I don’t think UW honors is worth paying out of state tuition when you have berkeleys acceptance.

Yeah, that’s what many people are telling me. Berkeley is about 45 min from my house too. Well, I still think I’ll come visit and check it out because I really love the school and location.

gl92- did you find out yet?

No… I’m still waiting :(

Wow! i read this thread and i’m pretty amazed that lots didnt get in! i actually got accepted 3.24.2010 and i have really low stats compared to everyone! SATs: 2010 GPAuw:4.0 Moderate ECs and okay essays. My 2 essays that were particularly for honors were written really fast and sloppy but my actual personal statement was strong (or so i think.)

Husky13, congratulations!

Thank you! :D… i’m pretty sure i’m gonna feel pretty dumb amongst all u smarties here next year… but i’m excited too! Anyone planning on rooming in Lander?

^ GPAuw = 4.0 and you feel dumb?

lol… well… 4.0 doesnt mean much i dont think. it really depends on how well your school’s programs are. and our school’s programs arent too great. :/
