anyone know how to raise SAT scores?

I've already taken a SAT KAPLAN class twice and have taken the test both sophomore and junior year. I'm going to take the test again and the class again because my scores still aren't in the 700s. Anyone know of some other really good programs or books that truly help out on SAT and get you into the 700s? What helps get you over that edge? Especially in math

Yh, its pretty easy STUDY. Do it on your own. Just do problems.

duh, of course i've done that! anything else?

sharkbait, im sorry to say, that's the only way. they say there are tricks to solving problems, but it's really just getting used to them. take at least 30 practice tests (as if you were doing it at the test center, time yourself, etc), learn from your mistakes, and i'll see to it that your SAT score will skyrocket.

i took the ACT and the SAT, and I didn't like my scores at first either (29 ACT, 630s SAT). I was too lazy to do the book and check my own answers, so I just basically used the internet resources available to me (there's internet prep available from the makers of ACT themselves, and quite a few online practice tests). I found sparknotes most helpful because i could take all their practice tests, AP, SATs, and ACTs, and additionally, if I got an answer wrong, they could automatically link me to the explanation. Plus, they scored my test, so I had very little bias or laziness in scoring (i.e. i did not score myself generously). I ended up with 1800 (again!?!?) on the Sparknotes SAT, but i took the SAT again and got 2100, 760 v, 740 m, 630 (stayed the same) for writing. I did this only by taking about 2 or 3 days (typically weekends) and studying/practicing for only 2 to 3 hours each time, two times each study/practice day. I found this much more efficient than SAT prep courses or studygroups, or even reading the darned book!

oh... and my ACT shot up to 33.

go buy a book with a bunch of old SATS, buy an egg timer, buy two #2 pencils, set the time limits and go, Ive been doing this this summer every tuesday, thursday and saturday, im hoping it pays off. And, ive been seeing a marked improvement. SAT currently is 1320. Practice makes perfect.

give an answer to 1 of every 5 questions you leave blank. the "-.25/wrong answer" wont hurt much if you do this.

If you leave 20 questions total blank and you answer 4. Get 1 right and 3 wrong you will be up .25 points. You can even answer 1 of every 4 questions you would normally leave blank. and get a greater positive than negative.
