It seems like after endless practice tests, the range I'm constantly stuck in is the high 600's to low 700's in each section but can never get any higher than this. I have recently memorized over 3000 vocab words (glad that's over!) and improved CR/Essay by a lot but can't REALLY improve to further near 2400. So, what have you personally done over the years to improve your scores? Study section strategies from review books or just take a lot of practice tests? I just ordered Rocket Review from Amazon and have been working in Gruber's book. Which books did you use or did you take a class? Thanks!

I had a 160 on the PSAT. 1700 on blue book test, and an 1800 my first real test. I bought 5-7 books on SAT, but didnt crack any of them open once. I took a practice test, did bad, and was like screw you SAT. Studied for ACT and got a 32. I decided to retake my SAT because I wasn't satisfied with my score. I did couple practice tests, (like 3) and got a 2030. My writing score basically sky-rocketed from studying ACT english. I was happy I guess, but took it once more for kicks, because i had a fee-waiver. Didn't study at all between tests and that night before my last test, I went to my school's championship football game and came home at like 1. I slept badly, and was half asleep through my test. But somehow, I raised my score a lot, and got a 2140. There's my story.

My idea of "studying" is just taking practice tests. I accepted the fact that i would miss the difficult sentence completions so i didn't study vocab, but its up to you i guess. For math, just don't make silly mistakes and you should get a decent score if your math base is strong.

My score isn't that impressive, but you should really see what kinds of questions you routinely miss on your practice tests, and fix those areas.
