Anyone know the acceptance rate for SFS?

I know it's significantly lower than the overall rate...

LaxGal,

Did you recv your acceptance today? if so, what state?

i think the acceptance rate is somewhere around 15%, if not lower. This year it may be hard to tell because it seems like there's a bumper crop of super-geniuses across the nation... urgh

Nope, I was waitlisted. It's not the end of the world, though, 'cause I'll have a few options. On the letter, it said there were 18,700 candidates for 1,580 students = 8.5% overall acceptance rate. How insane is that?! (Sidenote: from what I can tell from my various letters, Bowdoin: 8%, Amherst: 5.5%)

Maybe waitlist letters went out early?

Keep in mind that the yield to the SFS is not 100%, so 8.5% is overinflated... Last year SFS was overall 19-20%, I think this year it may drop to around 17%, but just my speculation.

Some goes for Bowdoin and Amherst.

Our rejection letter said 18,600 applications and less than 3400 acceptances for 18% overall. D applied to SFS too, no idea what their acceptance rate was.
