Anyone lives in/heard of Valencia student apartments?

I need some suggestions about this off-campus housing.
Or any recommendation of off-campus housing??

My son lived there last year. Great location behind the Albertson’s. Right on the bus route, easy bus ride to campus (or bike ride). He rented their furniture (bed & desk). The overall cost seemed reasonable. He didn’t like the general noise - I don’t think it was excessive, but when you have that many students together in a small apartment complex, there’s bound to be some noise.

If you don’t have roommates already, Valencia will place you in an apartment with 2 others.

My son will be living in a rental house next year shared with 4 other students. He found it on Craig’s List.

Valencia is good for off campus housing if you’re looking for a student setting. It may be loud but a much better option than Stenner Glen or Mustang in terms of noise. Mustang village is a popular place with less rules than Stenner. If you want a dorm experience, I suggest Stenner but you will feel very chaperoned and they are strict regarding smoking/drinking which I think is good. However, the rooms are very old and are just “updated” to acceptable conditions…it is definitely overpriced compared to what you will find on craigslist though there is a required meal plan included in rent–if you like their food. Mustang is good for more independence. Valencia is the nicest but further away (by a few minutes of walking). If I were to do it over again, I would say Valencia for student housing. Now, I live in a quieter area since I have my social group established and don’t like any noise at night but I would not recommend that for people looking to socialize a lot (I study/run/don’t go out except for weekends) so I love the residential quiet areas :)

Thanks guys, nice comments!! I called them days ago and was told that it had been filled fully! I have to find other housing plans.

^Benben let me know if you have any questions about areas or complexes once you are looking around because I have lived here for 3 years and am quite familiar with SLO :)

^Char Sure! Thanks for your help first!!! How much you pay for your housing now?

I pay more because I live on my own and don’t recommend it unless you have a social group already and can afford it comfortably as other expenses come up like utilities, food, fun…
expect to pay 450-800 dep on room size, priv vs shared bath, etc.

check craigslist postings and feel free to ask if theyre worth checking out based on area, price, etc.
