Anyone looking to transfer this SPRING 2010?

last fall, i was actually accepted a week before the announced date… i believe i was one of the first to be accepted as a transfer cus everyone else on collegeconfid were shockd to find out i was accepted. lolol. class starts jan 24th!? that is SO late…

Classes for Spring 2010 start on Feb. 1st…Interterm runs from Jan. 4th - Jan. 30 according to the Class schedule for 2010…

hey corky, are you a student at Chapman, or are you applying as well?

I am a parent who enjoys reading the various postings on CC…my son is a soph. film production major who loves Chapman…the cirriculum is so hands on right from the beginning…this semester he is taking 4 film classes…lots of work but lots of fun…he spends a ton of time helping on various shoots…last weekend he worked on a 3 day shoot, 12 hours each day which was really tiring but he loves it and is learning alot…good luck…I hope you get in…

thanks so much! Maybe I’ll be meeting your son soon. Hopefully.

chapman life sounds so exciting! wooh, i hope we all get in. :).

and yes. the wait begins…

I went in for the “interview” with a Chapman admissions rep and she was pretty straight forward letting me know that my chances look good for spring transfer.

She also let me know that I should hear back from Chapman by mid-late Nov. Which I was surprised to hear. Anyway, I keep checking the webadvisor and it says my decision is pending…

really?? what did she your chances were? and what are you majoring in? letting me know about your chances (according to your stats) would really help me out (my nerves), and i’d be really grateful.

and mid-late november? wow oh wow oh wow. that is suprising. they are on it, huh.

thanks. any information you (or anyone else) can give helps.

They’re definitely on it, I did receive a call yesterday, asking for “grades to date” this semester. I’m really glad they did that, because I’m killing it this semester with high As in 18 units, so I’m sure that makes a difference to them, especially concerning scholarships :).

I am a Philosophy/pre law major, with about 50 units after this semester. If I continue to hold my GPA I should transfer with anywhere between a 3.6-3.7. Right now as my GPA stands they will be making a decision off of my 3.4 GPA :/. The admissions rep said they would most likely ask for a mid semester report from my professors, and they did, all of my professors replied promptly explaining that I have As. So…I’ll keep you up to date Taylor. what about you…what major?

BTW, the admissions rep told me they will admit about 150 students for spring.

imprezivrex, oh awesome, i’m sure you’ll get in. most of their applicants are for their film majors, right, so admitting you would be something they would want. and As in 18 units? you are good, huh. :).
how soon did you apply?
and yes. i’m one of the film production major seeking applicants.
yay.
and 150 total for all majors, that’s sort of scary, but i got a good feeling.
did you apply for another semester before?

thanks for all the information, and yes, please keep me up to date. :)

hey guys do you know if transferring into Television at Loyola Marymount is very difficult to get into?

Chapmanpanther3, LMU’s School of Film is their hardest major to get into.

Whats up you guys, sorry I’m late! I’m applying for production at Chapman also. Did you guys post your videos on youtube yet? Here is mine

[YouTube - Chapman Video Essay For Spring 2010](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Q3S9ladS0o)

lame I know…I just didn’t have much time to put into it…anyways, I’ll stop making excuses  You guys should post up your videos!

~Good luck everybody~

Yo JC, My youtube name is Redbull418. I commented on your video. Nobody posted their videos though. You’ve already seen mine. I think myself and Taylor are the only ones on this thread applying to Film Production, and now, you too. Good Luck to us all!

VR your film was awesome! I really liked it. Taylor lets see your vid :)

did you guys get your postcard in the mail already?

Nope, I haven’t got anything yet. You? By the way I called Loyola today, and they said we should be hearing back within the next week or 2.

Yea, I got my webadvisor thing from chapman. Then I got a letter saying they were missing something. And then today I got my postcard saying: “your file was complete and was forwarded to the admission committee for review.” I do live in Texas too, so it may take and extra couple of days to get stuff to me. So ya I’ve gotten things from Chapman, but really nothing. haha

Btw that’s cool about LMU, my hopes aren’t too high for them though, I applied for fall 2009 and got denied… But it would be nice to hear from them soon.

haha you live in texas? I just got admitted to SMU today (for english). I’d still rather go to Chapman or Loyola (for film), and I’m still waiting to hear back from Rice (for english).

Anyways, I also applied to Loyola in Fall 2008, and Spring 2009, and I got rejected both times. So I share your discontent for them :)

Overall, Chapman is my number one school, I love the area (and lived in it for 3 years), but I got rejected when I applied last semester so we shall see.

Did you apply anywhere else besides Chap and LMU?
