Just finished submitting my app, and wanted to see if anyone else is in the same boat. Chapman admissions rep told me they will admit only about 115 transfers this spring--pretty small incoming class. One thing I'm worried about is the influx of applicants that may come to Chapman this spring due to the UC's not accepting spring transfers.

I’m in the same boat. I know a lot of transfers considered applying to Chapman and Loyola Marymount because they accept spring transfers and pretty much no one else does. I wish you all the luck! I guess all we can do is hope and wait.

me too! how long did you wait before transferring? i’m being gutsy, waiting just one semester.

I waited awhile; I’ll be a junior when I transfer. I also took a year off so… We’re both being a little gutsy here; especially applying for the spring semester, because there’s fewer spaces, I assume.

what are you majoring in? i’m going for film production so i’m real nervous.

Lol, me too! It’s gonna be tough, but I believe in positive thinking. I actually have two more things I need to do. I need to fax over my rec form and upload my video essay to the website. I wish you luck! There film production program is very popular.

you are? that’s also awesome. do you know how many transfers they’ll be/might be taking for that major, for the spring 2010 semester? i’m actually behind. ha. i sent in my LORs, transcripts and scores, just not my application yet. i can’t seem to finish. i know it’s good to be early, but with something this important, nothing i write seems good enough. i mean i using all the time i can to make everything better.
yeah, i’m real optimistic too. although space is tight, and their acceptance rate for film production is small, i still have so much hope. and i got a good feeling about it all.

I’m not sure how many people they are admitting for spring 2010. I might call Dodge College and ask, that’s a good question. I do know it’s a limited number, far less than in the fall. But, I’m not worried, haha. I’m still not done with my app either, just make sure to turn it in by Sunday, the deadline. All I have left is my letter of rec which I’m faxing today, but that’s for Chapman University. All my stuff for Dodge College was submitted already… woof.

i’m applying PR/adv for spring. pretty much finishing up my re-admit application right now. i applied fall 09 and got accepted bu tdecided to take a semester off.

not worried? at all? so i’m guessing you have a pretty good app, huh. and if you do find the answer, please let us know. :).

aw, why take off?

I’m proud of my app. It could be better of course, but for the most part–I’m happy with it. I was trying really hard not to worry, but then I got some awful news today. I got a letter in the mail from Chapman that explained how to check my app status online. I checked and it said I was missing my High School transcripts. I called and asked why they needed my High School transcripts and they said “if you have less that 60 credits we need your high school transcript.” I have 59 credits… So now, there’s no way they’ll get my transcripts in time. Saddest part, I worked really hard on my app. Even so, I’m still optimistic. I may be a couple days late, but all is gonna be great! I’m not gonna let one credit get in my way, lol

btw clara congrats on your acceptance and good luck with your readmittance!

aw, man, one credit. but it’s okay. i read on one of their blog, admission sites that it’s fine if things like transcripts, or letters of recommendation to come in a bit late, even a week or two would be fine. they say it’s not a big deal because usually they have so many applications that they don’t even get to it until much later. yup. you’re fine. and how soon after did you get your letter for, webadvisor, is it?

thanks! VRBain, don’t worry. they just said your application doesn’t get fully processed until all your items are in. i sent in my transcripts 2 weeks after the deadline last time and i still got admitted. haha. i just sent in my readmit yesterday and plan on sending in my transcripts and rec letter on monday.

thanks guys, my nerves are at ease. lol. I was working so hard trying to get everything in on time… I was like ***! lol. I sent my app. on Oct. 18 and I got my webadvisor info yesterday. I’m also out of state (TX) so that may have added so mail time.

do u know when decisions start coming ouT? funny cus i’m more nervous this time than last…

I read somewhere Jan 2. But that has to be wrong because there wouldn’t be any time really before the semester started. Spring starts Jan 24th I think.

thanks for that (the webadvisor thing). yeah, i read somewhere it starts feburary 1st, but woah, whichever one it is, woah. i hope it’s earlier when they notify us. if we do get in (knock on wood), that won’t be enough time to prepare. i mean the whole financial aid process and stuff.

Honestly, I think we’ll start finding out in Dec, but the website says Jan 2nd. It usually takes longer for the Dodge College because there’s so few spots. My nerves are beginning to set in. it’s time for the waiting… :-)
