I applied to Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX and University of Houston. I don’t want to go to either one of those places, although I got into both. I’m ready to get back to cali. I went to High School in Van Nuys, CA; I actually lived there from 1st grade till I was 18. Then, I moved to Texas (incredibly long and depressing story lol) but I’m ready to get back to cali. I’ve been planning my Texas Exodus for some time now, haha. My fate depends on Loyola and Chapman.

Congrats on SMU! Have you been to Texas before? What on Earth made you apply here? haha. We have something in common though: English–not the language itself–the major. lol, I’m planning on double majoring in English (creative writing) and Film Production. Like you, My first choice is Chapman as well. I NEED TO GET OUT OF TEXAS! haha

I have a classmate that already received a decision notice that he got in! I’m still waiting too. Really weird that he already got notification and we haven’t…He did however apply about 3 weeks before I did…In SEP!

imprezivrex, do you know exactly when your classmate applied because i’m still waiting on a decision and i applied around the end of september. did he also find out on webadvisor that he was accepted? thanks!

End of September is when he told me he submitted his app. As for web advisor showing the decision I’m not sure. I asked him and he said he actually wasn’t checking it, and not sure what his user name is to log on. I’ve heard they DO post the decision on web advisor even though it says a decision will only be provided through mail.

lets see, last semester BFA in Film Production they:

Received as of

03/02/09

Decision Complete as of

07/22/09

Dear god I hope it doesn’t take that long for them to make a decision this semester! I remember it just “pended…and pended…and pended” then halfway through the summer I found out I didn’t get in!

does anyone have a chapman email address showing for their account on webadvisor when you click under “students” and go into student account summary under financial aid information? i am just wondering if anyone else got an email address.

hannah, they give an email address to everyone I believe. I have one. You should probably check your email if you haven’t yet because they say they might email you at that address if they need to contact you. I haven’t received anything, but that’s what they said in the letter for webadvisor (I think) or in some letter I got at some point.

JC I haven’t heard anything from LMU… I was going to call them, but I don’t even care enough to call anymore, lol. Everytime I call them, they have nothing new to tell me.

oscar, that is a long time to wait. I wouldn’t worry to much, you’ll prolly hear something soon. If you don’t hear anything by the end of this month, then you should get concerned.

JC, So I called LMU–yes I broke down. haha. Anyway, the girl I spoke with was very flustered. I said, “I wanted to check the status of my application.” she goes,“ummm I’m not sure if I can… well what’s your name?” I tell her. She goes, “well, I can’t really tell you anything, you’ll have to talk with an admission couselor.” I ask, “well has a decision been made or is it still under review?” she goes, “a decision has been made, if you call on monday and speak with an admission counselor, they should tell you.” The girl seemed completely clueless, hopefully you didn’t speak with the same girl. hahaha. That’s why I don’t like calling, haha. But at least I’ll know soon enough.

VR do you think I should try calling chapman admissions or is that pointless? Most of the chappening blog posts suggest that calling really won’t get you anywhere, but I don’t know how much longer I can wait.

Oscar, If you call I’m pretty sure they’ll just give you the runaround, or say “check webadvisor.” If you have all your stuff turned in and you haven’t gotten any emails from them, I would wait. Maybe try emailing an admissions counselor if you don’t hear anything by next week. I’ve called Chapman a couple of times and never got anything specific answered just general scripted info. I say emailing a counselor may be your best bet… According to them, they’re going to try to have their decisions out before the holidays. Sorry, I know that doesn’t really help much–really all you can do is wait.
