I got accepted and plan to visit Colgate in April. One of the possible day in April 11(they have a program for AMS). I just wonder who here in CC is also going. I would love to know people before I am leaving^_^

Most probably. I’m an international.
If it gets finalized, will let you know. :)

Same here! I’d like to get to know some people beforehand. Just have to figure out which day I should go now…

I want to go so much… but i’m in china and the plane tickets sure take alot of money…

You should all really try to come to April Visit Days if you can! It will be a great way to feel what it’s like to attend Colgate and get to know a lot of nice students. Don’t worry about not knowing people beforehand; you will have plenty of opportunities to meet people starting the minute you step on campus!

Yeah im thinking of going but I live in WA state so Im not sure about paying for a like 500 dollar roundtrip ticket…

If anyone is planning on visiting, please add me on facebook(Jasmine Sijie Fan, living in Miami)^_^

Hey, I’m Eric Uyemura and I’m going on the 11th most probably. Yeah, you’ll meet tons of people, no worries =). Hope to see you all there and congrats! Anybody else lovin the calendar??

Oh goodness, I would love to go, but my ECs are hard to schedule around. fmll

Just so you know what to expect:

–visited April of D’s junior year: 60’s and beautiful
–Accepted student days, April of D’s senior year: 2 feet of snow day before we arrived!!

That has happened more than once, actually! I visited in the spring of my senior year in high school and there was snow on the ground. The guide insisted that it had been 65 and sunny just the week before and I didn’t believe him. Then my junior year at Colgate, the first week of AVD was 65 and sunny and the second was 2 feet of snow! I don’t think the kids visiting believed me then either…

I’m not going to go anymore.
The FA was pathetically low, so there’s no way that I’m enrolling there.

If you do go, keep in mind that April weather in Upstate New York can range from beautiful sunny days in the 70s (ahhh . …!) to a late-season blizzard (unlikely, but it has happened).
So take warm clothes along with the rest.

You could also arrive in a rainy spell. Rain in the Northeast can fall for days in a row at times, then no rain for a week. So, bring an umbrella. One of the attractions in that region is that you get FOUR distinct seasons and a real variety of weather.

My daughter is a first-year student at Colgate. She decided last year NOT to visit Colgate in April. She did not want to miss so much school (believe it or not!) and knew she was going there anyway, so why bother spending the money and flying all that distance (from California)? So, her first view of Colgate was when she first arrived as a freshman! Kind of exciting, I’d say. I was hoping she would kind of like it (or we were in trouble). She loved it. Blue skies, puffy clouds, green lawns, flowers. And she still does. So, don’t worry if you can’t visit Colgate in April. Did I mention the unpredictable weather? Oh, yeah, I did.

Thank you soooo much. I live in Miami.Weather is a huge thing for me!!!

I’ll be visiting tomorrow!

Hey does any one know what the visiting days are in Colgate? I havent gotten my admission packet yet so I dont know.

The official days are the 7th, 12th, and 19th and every Monday through Friday they have a condensed version of the tour.

I’m visiting Monday!!
