Well I want to learn to play an acoustic guitar. I'm looking for an acoustic electric for under $300. I don't want a super novice one. I don't want to grow out grow it within a few months. This guitar will last me a long time, so I want a good one. Any recommendations?

Washburn's are nice... I'm more partial to Ibanez' though. Honestly, its all preference. At $300, neither guitar is going to be fantastic, but neither is going to be a piece of crap. At that kind of price range, you are looking at buying a comprable guitar btw both brands, and it's whatever you like the feel of more. Obviously as being new to the instrument you don't know what you like best, but what kind of music are you into? I might be able to recommend one over the other

Just anything i can play on acoustic.. Whether it be Kanye, Green Day, or John Mayer... I'm not into rock, but if it sounds good i'll paly it, or try to.

Good luck trying to play John Mayer; even though his reputation as a pop-artist is tainted, his guitar-playing in his Blues album (and songs such as Neon from his old CD) are for advanced players.

I've been playing for a few years now and still have trouble with those songs.

I know how crazy he can get sometimes, but what i want to play is his chorus and intro and such. I know i'm not ready for his lightning fingers, i doubt i'll ever will be, but I still want to try.

and Oyama, you'll realize that as soon as you feel relieved that you've successfully stolen that beaut, the guitar will be in my possession. puahaha.

I've been thinking that I may not need an Acoustic-Electric right now, but i'm still thinking it. So was just thinking of getting an acoustic guitar only. I've done some research and found the Washburn D10s. What's your opinion on it? Thanks

Those two guitar are great selections. Now go Sam Ash or Guitar Center and try both of em out. If you spot another guitars near your price range, be sure to give those a try as well. Good luck.
