Anyone receive admittance into School of Nursing?

I applied the last week of October, sent in the application, but did not know I had to send in the self-report grades.

I applied for
1. Pharmacy
2. SAS
3. School of Nursing

Once I sent in my self-reported grades, I received notification of acceptance into Pharmacy and SAS within four days (the week of Thanksgiving).

However, I still have not word from the Nursing School.

Am wondering - has anyone received notification from the Rutgers' Nursing yet, or know when we will?

I haven’t received a letter from Rutgers at all, but do know my admittance into two programs through the status-check.

Will I not receive a letter until all decisions have been made (Nursing included)?

Is Rutgers’ Nursing supposed to be difficult to get into?

The nursing program tends to be one of the last to send out notifications and yes it is very difficult to get into!

I’m not sure about the letters - maybe they’d wait for the nursing decision so they’d only have to send one letter.

@thatsthekey- So does that mean nursing applicants are going to get their notification around January/February?

I don’t know about the timeframe, but I know they do tend to take longer than others. They have a lot of applicants and accept very few people.

I’m applying for a school-to-school transfer from SAS to the nursing school in Feb for the fall.

Then is Rutgers’ Nursing harder to get into than Rutgers’ Pharmacy?

My roommate (who I knew in high school) is in the nursing program. I remember her being stressed out over not hearing back from nursing – the reason that they gave her for the delay was that they go over the transfer applications first.

I don’t know if it’s harder than Pharm, it’s just a small program. I forget what the stats were for admissions of first year students, but last year they accepted 30/800+ transfer students. They accept more first years, but there are also more first year applicants. There is a strict student-teacher ratio so they can only accept a certain amount of people.

Like mizuiro said, I remember freshman waiting to hear back last year and it was always longer than the other schools.

Marcus111 can you post your stats?
I have been waiting for pharmacy decision for over a month after they accept me into college of biological science and art and science.

Congratulation!

GPA: 4.0
SAT: 700, 800, 750
SAT II: 720 Math, 720 Biology
Courseload: all AP’s junior and senior year, all honors classes freshman/ sophomore year
In-State

Good luck, sjyuhan!

nursing isn’t even that good at Rutgers. they just only have room for a few people.

pharmacy or the honors program or both. try those.

Rutgers actually has an excellent nursing program. It’s small because there are strict NJ rules about student-teacher ratios. They can’t afford more teachers, so they can only accept a certain amount of students.

It just comes down to what you want to do!

Just got admitted into their Nursing Program a few days ago.

I got into the Nursing program yesterday. Anyone know the freshman acceptance stats?

Marcus111. Congratulations of your acceptance.
Let me know if you have any question.
I am a sophomore at RCON.

Can anyone that is in Rutgers nursing/was accepted to the program post their high school stats? I am an in-stater, in advanced classes, good sats, but I know Rutgers nursing is just so hard to get into so I want to know if I actually have a decent chance!

i was accepted and will be attending this coming fall.

i took 8 ap courses including ap stats/chem/bio (the more important classes), english lit, english lang, gov’t, us history

i had a 3.6 gpa/2110 sat/31 act

i actually just went to open house yesterday, and apparently 2200 high school seniors applied this year, and they accepted 25-30
it’s a pretty competitive program, but if you have the stats then you’ll be fine :)

good luck and hopefully i’ll see you next year!

thank you and congratulations! have an awesome year!

Just for some perspective, I got admitted into the Rutgers nursing program New Brunswick. I am from North Jersey, am caucasian and go to a public high school. I have a 3.4 gpa (unweighted) and got a 27 on my ACT. I took AP Spanish and Human Geography. I am an EMT, volunteer in my local hospital ER, secretary of the student body, 4 year varsity field hockey and swimmer, and 6 year region band member (french horn), volunteer with catholic charities, etc. My grades and test scores are not the highest, but my advice is to do what you love. In the end, if you are passionate about the extra curricular activities and programs you are involved with, colleges will notice. Good luck!
