Anyone send in deposit yet?

I was wondering if anyone has sent their deposit yet? I love BC and expect to go in the fall, but my parents want me to wait to hear from Georgetown.

I have visited BC a number of times, but I’ve never seen a dorm. I plan to visit again in the spring, can I request a special tour of the freshmen dorms?

Also, can we request housing without sending in the deposit?

I don’t think that you can request housing without sending a deposit. I haven’t deposited because I’m waiting to hear from a few other schools. I’m also seriously worried that I won’t be able to attend due to lack of FA – I just got an email saying my offer was adjusted, but it hasn’t changed at all, $6900 and not a dime that isn’t wrapped up in work study or loans. Garbage.

Anyway, to answer your question, I think you can arrange housing tours pretty easily. I know a freshman who hosts prospective students (she gave me quite the extensive tour, housing and everything. Dorms are pretty standard, I’d say, same with honors dorms. Not too cramped or anything IMO) and I’m sure she would be happy to show you around if you like. Good luck with Georgetown!

Our daughter was accepted EA and paid the deposit online via Agora Portal in the first week of January. She debated her choices, all others were scholarships, but decided BC was too good to pass up. She withdrew all her other applications and is very happy with the EA decision she made. She didn’t care about the outcomes of the other schools, BC was definitely something that she didn’t think would happen in a million years, and was stunned to be accepted. She will forever be a big supporter, as they were with her.

She already requested housing, filled out the forms online which were available in February and the orientation week tabs are now starting to show up. Apparently the three day orientation is mandatory and if you are from the Northeast, June and July are the required months. She needs the first orientation June 12-14 and parents also have a program each day so we’ll need to get a hotel room. The first orientation week is right after graduation for her, but because of a trip abroad she needs this one.

No, unless you deposit you cannot request housing. She already is ready to accept Upper or Newton, they both sound fine, but did request a double. I think move in day is the Thursday before Labor Day, but until we get confirmation, I am just guessing from last year.

She deposited because she wanted preference on housing and made her decision early. I think the earlier you deposit, the better, but if you are waiting for other schools, then you will have to wait until late March/early April to do everything online if you want to attend BC.
