Hello all.
Is anyone else here interested in Brown’s marine biology or geology programs? Brown is such a gem to have quality geosciences/marinesciences within a liberal arts atmosphere.

Also…
For you marine enthusiasts…
one of Brown’s freshman dorms features sinks in the dorms - perfect for aquarium keeping! Another reason to love Brown. Nanoreefhmmwhat?

This is kind of an old post, but if you're still interested -

The geo department at Brown is really strong, and has some amazing professors. This is pretty well known, so you should be able to find much more on the forum.

Marine bio is a pretty small concentration under Brown's Bio (Ecology/Evolutionary Bio) department, and it's great because many of the professors work on EEB in marine systems (Bertness, Witman, etc). They have really great connections and it's easy to get to know them well.

If you really like marine bio, try your hardest to get into Bertness' Tropical Marine Bio FYS - best class ever, and you take a trip to Belize with a bunch of EEB faculty and grad students (so you get to know your future professors and TAs, which is great)
