Mine is currently 500ish words. On the thing, it says "no more than 300," but that is so freakin short. I can still fit it on the browser, so I was wondering how this worked out for you guys.

Of course it'll fit, but I think it'd be a better idea to stick with the directions of NO MORE THAN 300 words. If it's absolutely necessary to have those remaining 200 words, and there is no way on earth to cut out anything, not even a few words, then I guess you have no choice but to keep it. i know that didn't really answer the question but just my two cents.

You must like Northwestern a lot robotFOOD...or you're terrificly good at regurgitating the viewbook. :D

Goldfish, let's just say that I like UPenn a lot, and I modified that essay to fit NU.

Shhhhhhh.... :D

I don't see any resemblance between Penn and Northwestern... :-/ I wonder how'd you pull that one off.

I was going to use either one of my other essays for BU - I don't give a $#@# about it because I know I'll get in even if I drop dead now :(

Mine's 323.

It says a maximum of 300 words. Is 100 ok?

i feel you!
mine's at 500 too................
AHHSDFLK!

i was gunna use my penn too- but then i realized my giant omage to BEN Franklin wouldnt work the same way so i wrote a less faboulous essay- but what essay is as faboulous that doesnt have ben franklin

hes the man!

haha i pretty much used my penn one too!

my essay was exactly 300 words.

WOOT

Does it look really bad on my application if there are a few lines of words at the bottom page of my essay that have nothing to do with the essay and have no meaning themselves either? I used Firefox's spellingcheck which comes with the browser. And for some reason, Northwestern online application seems to have conflicts with the spellingcheck system and the text entering box in it somehow mysteriously converted the correction choices of the spellingcheck into part of my essays.
Well, i know you are confused. basically, the bottom part of that page looks like this:

Racially
Facially
Basically
Banally
...
Ignore
Add to dictionary

What sucks is that I couldn't see this in the text box and could see it once I opened the pdf preview. So I just totally neglected this mistake when I submitted my application

What the heck? ^ That is weird... I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you could e-mail them if you really really wanted to but they'll probably just ignore it.

Mine's 298 words. I used the same intro for my Duke and Penn essays.

i used my why chicago essay
