....basically

I surely haven't!

Call them. My Mom called the other day and it turns out that they had overlooked my second SAT scores and I was elibible for Founders and they had previously only told me $3000 loan. The point of my comment is that they aren't running smoothly yet and just call and ask. I believe they were still going to be working on it till the 15th but if you haven't heard get the wheels turning. Turns out my file had been put in a drawer and not pulled again and rereviewed until the call........

Calling is often a no go due to organization understandably gone to hades. I haven't gotten my finaid either but I did get the founders. When I visited on the 1st of this month I was told to expect the fa package around the 15th. I have a question, though. Does anyone know whether a scholarship at Tulane takes up a large portion of fin-aid a candidate would be getting without it? Or do the scholarships not have too much to do with the actual financial aid package?

i got a letter today saying that they are still processing fin aid, which doesn't even really apply to me----they did say up till the 15th - they have been very responsive to my e-mails (1 day turn over) ;try that---

haven't heard anything yet either... i'll be calling tomorrow

I got my packet today so just be patient.

My fin aid was revised when the scholarship snafu was fixed. Still got more $$ ofcourse in the end. But yes the scholarship will affect your fin aid package as you will need less in difference pre and post scholarship.

still haven't got ANY info... and i've been sitting on hold with them for about half an hour now :(

neither have i, flashback

ugh

do they send letters out telling if people didn't get any fin aid?

Boy, I tell you that this gives me some questions if they are so confused. They only went oops you deserve a Founders when my Mom called after reading some stats here and they said they hadn't seen rereviewed after the second SAT's and they were sent in very early. Like they went in early January but I had already been accepted and then the file lost in space. That means that their FIN AID seems to be entirely SAT driven. And now all you poor folks who can't get the time of day? Worrisone huh?

Have you emailed? I found out about my founder's in an email...

wow, that sounded incredibly lame, froshtobe.

poor folks?
last time i checked, $40,000 per year for college isn't something parents readily hand to their children, especially if they already have other kids in college.

i guess with attitudes such as yours, there are other things to be "worrisone" about.

vicky06- the only emails i've gotten from tulane were the standard "thanks for coming!," "chat with the president!", "make your decision by may 1st" emails that everyone gets.

but hey.
my friend last year didn't get hers until the end of april and still received ~$18,000 a semester for whatever reason (didn't qualify for founder's or anything, yet could probably afford more than what was offered).

You took the word "poor" the wrong way. Not poor as in no money- heck aren't we all there in this process- poor as in sorry for their stress, feel sorry for their inconvenience and waiting. There are very few of us who just walk away and say heck what's $40,000 a year and I would be the last person to be so callous and snotty about something this important to all of us. That would have been a real jerk comment and I get this feeling like the wait is endless thing. Try coming from a country where you have to make 65 or our dollars to make 1 U.S. dollar then you get the concept of how important that I get this FIN AID thing is. So take $45,000 and multiply that by 65 and you will see how I can sympathize with them/ you/ anyone who has to come up with these funds to get an education. Just sorry that the confusion of waiting and wondering has to be added to it.

sorry to have been such a b!tch, froshtobe. that's probably one of the main reason i hate the internet- no person to person contact, ugh.

i still haven't gotten anything. ARGH!

I really really sympathize. No offense taken. I kind of got a chuckle over the misinterpretation especially since laughing is better than stress. Stupid question maybe but did you call? I know they probablt don't give you the time of day. All I can say is keep the faith and I will cross my fingers for you, in fact I will cross my arms and legs amd do the I dream of Jeanie head nod...............Ah but it should be so easy!

i don't have time to call! that's the problem. i usually get home past five everyday anyway. i guess i'll just wait a little longer and then ask one of my parents to call (yeah, i'm grown. what?)

Hey they are useful when you need them(parents I mean) !!! Listen it is their pocket ultimately so ask them to call for you. This stress is way too much so close to May 1 and when my Mom called for me - yea I have your same issue- that is when they realized mine had fallen through the cracks and up came with the Founders. Let me know what happens.

I was accepted in December and didn't receive anything until 2 weeks ago, and only got it then because I called the financial aid office about twice a day.

In the end, I got a $5,000 loan with an EFC of $45,000.
