Daughter sent her application via USPS so.....waiting on her decision letter. Her friend got it in the mail today but no mail at our house. This is so very frustrating! Last school decision and a very critical choice.

Anyone else in this boat? Congrats to the Class of 2011!!!

This is my last school that I am waiting to hear back from as well. I sent mine via USPS as well and I am OOS so I doubt that I will get the letter before mid next week. Be patient though, the decision wont change as it is being mailed.

Obsessive Dad:
My daughter was notified in mid-March of her admission (Echols)....but the official congratulatons letter had not arrived as of April 2nd. I'm not at home to check the mail today, but I wouldn't give up hope just yet. We're in Knoxville. Good luck to your family (and GO LADY VOLS!)

If a decision letter hasn't arrived by Friday, give us a call. Maybe it got mishandled by the post office. We'll send out another copy or maybe email it to the student if you think your mail service is routinely delayed.

Letter arrived today. My wife has held it up to the light (as all good mothers do) - it appears to be a wait list. If so, our son will be sad. Given the impressive admission statistics, I will try to convince him he did well to get this far.

Appreciate the support on this blog.

Also - Dean J: Your efforts and those of UVA to support you are very much appreciated. This whole process is an insane experience when you and your family are traveling through it. The printed guides from the schools are minimumly helpful. You periodic input adds a small but helpful does of reality to this process - Thanks

There's no denying that it's difficult to gain admission to UVA...particularly for students who are out-of-state. My daughter did receive her official admissions letter on Tuesday. I really do believe that the application and financial aid process will eventually lead our sons & daughters to the right school. We just have to keep the faith. Best of luck to your son, wherever he chooses to continue his education.

Dean J, We're another TN family that appreciates your insight into the college admission process. Thanks for being there.
