Anyone still waiting to hear

So I'm getting antsy I just don't think I can wait till the end of may! Is anyone else still waiting to hear if they were accepted or not? Btw I'm a transfer

Still waiting here! I’m an international applicant though. Anyone on the same boat? Beginning to feel reaaally tired of waiting :|

I am waiting just as most of international freshman applicants. I hope we get the decisions this week.

Don’t worry guys! I called and asked and they said they are releasing our international decisions on Friday the 15th. Good Luck!!

Well congrats to you guys! Ill still be waiting :(

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I’m a transfer as well and I probably won’t hear till May either…It’s so hard not to check mystatus even though I know it won’t change for awhile.

What I don’t get is why we transfer students don’t get a specific decision date like everyone else does. Freshmen got March 1st, at the latest (but they were told earlier). Internationals get March 15th, at the latest. Even grad students have a date that is earlier than ours, I believe.

But when I called, they told me it could be as late as June. Why should I wait until June? I have well over 30 hours (going to have my associate’s degree in May), and I started my application December and finished in early January.

I get that they have to wait until some transfers send in their final transcripts, but they could have two decision dates, like April 31st at the latest for those with 30+ hours, and June 1st at the latest for those who need to send in their last transcript.

It’s just a really, really long wait when I have to make some decisions soon about the fall. I was accepted at another school (Texas State), but I can’t really do anything else with that until I know what all my options are. I really want to go to UT, but if I can’t, I’d like to know sooner rather than later. :S At least having a more specific time frame would be helpful.

I should probably stop checking my MyStatus until the end of the month at the earliest. Think it’s just getting me riled up. lol

Hey bowtiesrcool, I’m international and still waiting too
I’ve heard some talk on cc that they’d be releasing decisions on Friday 15th
deadxpoetics above me just said that too
So hopefully this weekend we’ll know! :)

Hy acanaday so 15 th march is basically for the freshman international stude3nts?
dat would really suck…I have been waiting for a long time tooo…since jan and no news at all…it really sucks not knwing ur future doesn’t it…

I know I get frustrated too but most transfers should know by the end of may although I think everyone should know by the end of April you can tell by GPA and how applications have been going if you will admit them in my opinion but that’s just me… hopefully we will all be admitted I’m actually applying for summer so hopefully they will cut me slack & give me a decision by may so i can plan accordingly haha

Deadxpoetics is that after the band? Anyway what’s your major? If your major isn’t a highly competitive one your decision wouldn’t take as long

well I applied for a&m to where I am a auto transfer too but I think ut Austin is a realy great school and I was really hoping I could go there but becuz my major is engineering which is the most tuffest to get into …I fear being rejecd …even so It would be a relief to hear back soon back soon so that I could make other plans…

@ Acanaday88: I’m sorry, I don’t understand your question. After the band?

My major is psychology. I don’t know if that’s competitive or not; probably not. I’m trying to transfer out of ACC since I’m graduating this semester.

I guess I’m also kinda worried because I thought I had a really high GPA (a 3.88 at ACC), but after applying, I found out my transfer GPA is more like a 3.46 or something at UT. This is because back in 2008, I thought I had dropped all my classes at a different school, but it turns out two weren’t dropped, and I got F’s in them. I later repeated them and got A’s, but the way they calculate transfer GPAs at UT includes each instance of a repeated class, even if you got a higher grade later.

At Texas State, they don’t do that. The new grades overrode the old ones, and I have an even higher transfer GPA since they also didn’t include my remedial math grade.

So it’s super frustrating! I went into this thinking I was a shoe-in, but now I’m not so sure. I really hope they take that “positive academic trend” thing seriously! Since I went back to school in 2011, I’ve only made a single B, and that was in intermediate algebra. lol

im an international student applied for advertising, not sure how competitive it is! :(

Deadxpoetics is a band that I use to listen too didnt know if that’s where you got the name and I do believe they will take your positive academic trend into account as well as the GPA you have right now too… But who knows but I think your okay! Honestly

Anyone applying to mccombs?

I’ve applied for undergraduate transfer admission to Fall 2013 semester. My application status changed from “complete” to “in review” at some point over the past 24-48 hours, but no further developments. Like most (if not all) of you, I continue anxiously awaiting a verdict, logging into MyStatus on an almost obsessive basis at this point.

Will it seriously be May before many (non-international) transfer applicants receive a formal decision, even those who have already exceeded the 30+ credit hour Requirments? Surely that can’t be right… Can anyone who mentioned something along these lines above cite your source, please? Is this timeframe posted explicitly somewhere on the site, or has someone perhaps spoken to admissions personnel within the past few days?

My first and second choice majors are neuroscience and biochemistry, respectively. I know biochem is quite selective, but since the neuroscience undergrad program has only been in existence at UT for a handful of semesters, I have absolutely no clue whatsoever what sort of competition pool I’ll be up against here. I’ve been unable to locate any stats for this major specifically (e.g. average number of applicants, number of available spots, etc.), so I’m going a bit crazy at the moment. I’ve applied to Yale as well (among others) which has a transfer acceptance rate of ~2%, and I’m not bothered by that one at all because I’m at least able to calculate my odds and figure out where I stand.

Has anyone maybe stumbled upon these data for UT?

Thanks all, and good luck!!!

P.S. Still no word?

Whatevadude ya on bealonghorn it does say most transfers will find out by end of may

Okay guys so I called admissions bc I realized summer sessions starts June 7 and if your applying for summer you’ll find out mid to late April and that goes without saying fall will find out in may :(

Oh, no. Never heard of that band. My SN is from the movie, Dead Poets Society. :D
