Has anybody heard anything?

No but i heard from an admissions representatives that they were sending decisions out in mid april. He said that you would only receive decisions sooner if you had no chance or you had a very strong overall app(4.0 i guess)
so the fact that you havent heard anything yet is probably good :)

Thanks for that bit of information, Jaysen.

I still check my UT EID status page 2-3 times a day, even though I know the decision won’t come for some time.

Hey he told me that in person and i still do the same thing
he said your major might determine when your notified

Last year most people who already had 30 hours were notified in mid April. If I can remember correctly, the first person to post got accepted on April 13 and he got into McCombs, he had a 4.0. I got my decision on April 21 for Liberal Arts and I had a 3.5. So yea there is still about a month left for you’ll. It’s going to feel like ages. lol

Engineering sent out acceptances in mid May.

Oh, wow. Mid May is a long time from now. I think I’ll stop checking my status altogether to help get my mind off the wait. I have to register for next semester’s classes in April in my current university.

Stop checking. I just got my acceptance for freshman admission about 3 weeks ago and it seemed to take forever, but I stopped checking so often, which helped a lot. They never gave a specific date either, which definitely helped increase how often I checked it. (they said early March was their “target date” but I actually got my decision on Feb 27th)

transfer people probably wont here for a month or 2, but yea checking everday doesnt help i checked everyday up until CAP lol, so just check once a week or something

So does anybody know if you can hear anything back before you have completed thirty hours? I’ll completely be done with me thirty hours on may 15th. Do they only review an application once thirty hours are there? I dont see why they cant give you acceptAnce upon being required to complete the thirty hours by when i said i would. Its just going to make life a whole lot easier if i have a decision now. Lol. Patience… I wish i had that as a virtue right about now.

im pretty sure they only review when you have 30hours since that is the minimum required to transfer

^ Sorry for the horrible spelling/grammar in my previous post.

pierrechn is is correct, they will not review you until you have 30 hrs on file.

Blah. That kind of really sucks. Oh well. Thanks for the reply though!

@UThopeful22 - I’m in the same position as you!

@aridnepenthe- I think there are a lot of people in the same position. you would think that since the application submission is closed that they would have a pretty good idea of who will get accepted and who won’t. Guess not. I just wish I could hear back sooner.

Anyways, is everyone planning on living on campus next year to kind of help in making a smooth transition (if we get in)?

i plan on living on campus
but wonder if they will even have space for us

Actually last year they didn’t have any rooms for transfer students. Atleast that was the case for a few people on this site including me. They give priority to freshmen students. If you apply for housing today and some freshmen applies for housing in May, the freshmen will be given a higher priority than you. Atleast that was the case last year. So if I were you, I would start looking at off campus apartments just to be on safe side.

thanks topawala 20 for the response
so is that what you ultimately did
and whats the price difference

Yes I am living in an apartment in West Campus. I live at the Quarters and pay $690/month plus $85/month for parking plus electricity/water. Good thing is that I have my own room and the bad thing is that it’s expensive. But I received enough financial aid to cover my tuition and books and still had some money left over. But you can try checking off campus dorms such as Dobie and Castillian. They are very close to campus and you can most likely find rooms even in late June so by that time you would know for sure if you will receive on campus housing or not. A couple of people on this site leased at Dobie and Castillian in late June/ early July and were able to get rooms. Not sure how this year is going to be like.
