haha im a senior and this will be my first time taking the test too :/

oh and i kind of had a similar question as collegeact, but more around the lines of would the dec act test scores be out in time to send it to colleges?

oh and cricket123: cool! haha im indian too where are you from and where are you planningto apply?

Iām pretty positive that math and science going to destroy me. Well, math will trip me up more than science. Thankfully Iām not looking into going to an expensive Ivy/private university for undergrad, but Iām still gonna be super disappointed if I donāt at least get a composite of 30. I dropped out of school after the 8th grade, so this shall truly be a test of what Iāve taught myself more than anything.

@Gamer: Treading through boring graphs and (usually) useless passages makes me screw up. I had that problem with reading tests for longest time - all of the crap you have to read is just yawn-worthy, and when Iām not engaged, I donāt do as well as I could.

Iām mostly worried about the time. When I do practice tests, Iām always so scared that Iāll run out of time that I end up skimming stuff while I should probably pay attention to details. Oh, and if a question stumps me, I get angry and just guess rather than move on and try to figure it out later. Iām definitely gonna change my strategy when I take the test tomorrow.

Yeah, Iām worried about time too, especially on the math and science section. I usually have time to go back and check on the reading sections, but I seem to run out time on the math sections sometimes. For science, I just really have to plow through it and not get distracted or I wonāt finish.

Yeah thats definitely trueā¦ I love science so thats probably whyā¦ but my Reading score is like 9 points lower because I canāt focus on that boring nonsense! Grr :(

I canāt answer that question, but I must build off of it: since this is the first time taking the test, I decided not to opt for the writing portion (well, and the school I want to go to doesnāt require it and itās not too hard to get into), but should I have tried it anyway? I am a slow writer, and I tend to have a hard time writing something out as long as an essay without having to alter it at least 10 times. Itās not that I make mistakes, but when itās something as important as that, Iām legitimately a perfectionist. If I screw up badly this time, should I take the writing test too next time?
