Anyone Taking it for the First Time Next Saturday?

I am and was wondering if anyone else was...

I'm worried; I've barely practiced but have taken the SAT twice and am hoping that experience will be useful.

I am a senior by the way...

buuuuuumpppp

Yeah, I’m taking it for the first time too and I have taken the SAT twice. Looking at my practice tests, I really shouldn’t be worrying so much because they’re better than my SAT scores, but I still feel nervous. Best of luck!

Mine are about the same as my SAT. Around a 30 in each section although I have only done two practice tests so far…

Mee too.

off the topic : cricket123 : where are you from?

New Jersey… You?

around the world
India
interesting that people know cricket in US

I’m taking it this Saturday, as well. I’ve taken a few practice tests and English is my highest score. Math, however, is my lowest score. I am a sophomore and I’m taking the ACT to get into a math and science boarding school in my state. Any tips on this portion of the test?

Here´s a math review for the ACT, it may help http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/act-facts-and-formulas.pdf

@compact,
haha no, I meant cricket as in the insect not the sport but I know the sport as well I just don’t play it…

I am, but i always run out of time on the Reading and Science sections. I get so mad!

@Jordan134,

Just keep practicing! I’m sure you’ll be fine. :)

The Science section sucks, it’s so boring!! :(

Agreed … science suks:
I barely finish science

It’s just annoying. Some of the experiments are kind of interesting but I practically fall asleep reading most of them. I thought the science section wouldn’t be so frustrating to complete…

how come ur a senior but it’s your first time taking it? isn’t there a state testing date during your junior year?
ACT is different from SAT though. ACT is more about timing and knowing the tricks to get as many questions right but SAT is more about the info you know. i’m not saying this for you to freak out but practice the timing as much as possible. ALso, take the test on one sitting because by half of it u will start getting a little tired and not as efficient. SO try to make ur conditions as similar to the test as possible. Good luck

@amandachgo,
No, there is no state testing date that I know of… I’m from Jersey by the way…

Thanks for the advice! :)

i have register for ACT on oct 22 but due to lack of time i am not being able to raise my confident level and pace myself on time. so what i would like to ask is," IS it good to give exam on oct 22 only or i should postpone the date for dec 10 and what will be better is it good to send the best score of dec which is given with lots of practice or its better to send the score of this oct 22 to university " does the exam which of dec 10 counts a lot or this oct 22 counts a lot. i am really in confusion. and if i don’t score well in this oct 22 and if i reschedule in dec then that counts better or its better to postpone on december. waiting for the best answer asap . thank you

Sameee here buddy. Took the SAT 2 times and this is my first ACT attempt. I graduated High School last year though, but I’m applying for scholarships this year.

Science is the $hittiest one yet, excuse my french. The time is what destroys my score :frowning:

I’m pretty good at math, but I always manage to make mistakes here and there, which never gets me up to the 33+ range. It sucks. Probably because of my concentration though… I get tired and bored during the test.

Any advice for science anyone?

@MQ1993,
Me too except I’m graduating next June! I took it twice and I’m taking it for the first time soon.

Science seriously sucks!!

@collegeact,
I’m wondering this too. I don’t want to cancel that test date though because it was very expensive and I feel like it would be a waste of money… ya know?

What do you guys think, if I don’t do well should I just not report it as I have a good SAT score…? Would it be okay for me to take it but not report the score?

How much have you guys done for prepare?

Everyone seems to not like the Science section… does anyone have any tips?
