anyone that has the gut to take AP Bio

Is it really that demanding (either physically or mentally) to take ap bio?

Im taking it this year and ive heard contradicting comments from my friends who did take ap bio last year. Some say it's a mindblower while others think it's rather relaxing and comprehensible compared to ap chem i took last year.

Im really stressful right now thinking about the unknown challenge ahead. Im taking AP double sci, math, computer science, and 2 other honor classes along with college writing and TA. What I mostly want to ask is:

Will bio take up a great proportion of my time and even worse that I still can't ace it if I intently focus on it?

ps: I used to be a transfer student so I didn't take bio I or II and I hven't spent a min on preparing for that class this summer :P

It depends on your teacher. No one on here can tell you.

^It really does depend on your teacher. However, I’ll say that AP Bio is a lot of memorization, and if you are good at that and don’t hate the subject, you probably won’t have too much trouble. At my school, AP Chem was notoriously harder than AP Bio–but the latter isn’t “relaxed”.

AP Bio at my school is a 2 year course :o.

Same for AP Physics and AP Chem.

It really does depend on the teacher. You do a lot of labs, too, so if you get a good lab group then you can have a real fun time. I was lucky to be with a really great group of people, so it made the class more fun. My teacher was also very comprehensive in her lessons, but she kept it formatted like a high school course. I’m not sure if I liked that.

Good luck with AP Bio! It is a manageable course at the end of it all.

Dont worry, there isnt much pre-work for ap bio. As you’re reading the chapter things will seem very complex-you need to fit your mind around it all. There’s a lot of memorizing, tests will have a lot of detail (but less so on the actual AP…) but yeah there is a ton of content. There may be less busy work depending on the teacher.

It MAINLY depends on the teacher. Otherwise, it’s all down to memorization.
