Just wondering if there are any transfers applying to American for the Fall term. The deadline for aid was March 1st but the deadline for transfer applications are June 1, I believe. Any transfers? I’d love to hear from you!

Hello, I am Transferring to American I got the offical letter and packet rather quickly after submitting my application. Im coming from a large state school VCU in VA. You going to any of the upcoming transfer events like the transfer transitions.

Hi, I haven't submitted my application yet. When did you send in yours? Are they on a rolling basis?

I sent the application in a few weeks ago around begininng to mid march and got an answer back I think it is on a rolling basis until June you should prob. get yours back if you havn't already soon. Let Me know how it goes

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm working on my app as we speak...

My D applied for transfer for fall in March, but because she was a freshmen she got an e-mail saying they put her on hold until her spring grades. Once they received them in May, she was accepted within a couple weeks.

If anyone else has transfered I would love to hear how the financial aid is for transfer students...we are still waiting to hear. (we were told that for transfer students the financial aid offer comes sepately and later).

The news is heartbreaking...
AU's transfer financial aid offer was very poor...$11,900 only 44% of need. So won't be able to attend AU. Also accepted to transfer to Catholic U so might attend there $22,000 (Double AU's offer). But also might re-consider staying at McDaniel $30,000 = full need.

I have often heard advice suggesting going to a community college or state school to save money and then transferring up to dream school for the last two years. Now, I don't think this is good advice unless need based financial aid is not essential. The scholarships and financial aid packages seem to be too low for transfer students.

Yeah, most of AU's financial aid is merit-based aid. There is little need-based aid at AU from what I've heard. But, the merit-based is very generous I've been told. I was lucky enough to get a somewhat good amount. I hope you try again.

Are you sophmore or junior? If you'll share...What's your cum? I'm only 0.03 from honors so maybe I'll try to up my cum and try next year as a junior. I'd need at least $10,000 in merit as well as need to make it possible. Did you get at least that much? THANX

keep on trying, ahoo!
