Anyone using the Sparknotes Prep? (Esp. the online one?) Discuss.

Hey guys. I made a plan to study for the SAT (ongoing Jr.) at the beginning of this summer, and that was 2 month ago! So beginning yesterday I officially started my hardcore studying sessions.

I volunteer at a used book store and I got a copy of the Sparknote's "the new sat" (they don't like to capitalize letters for some reason. web 2.0?) for about 2 dollars. What a grab!

Yesterday I went through a practice test -- actually, they have an online version of the book where you enter a code you obtain from the cover and you can go online and use the material online. Also they have a online testing center, which basically contains the practice tests you have in the book but in an electronic version. After you are done you can view a nicely generated assessment and they try to target your weak spots.

Anyway I took a practice test on there and I got a 1990 on the first try! Without studying much on the SAT at all except maybe scanned the review materials from Baron's 2400 and blue book. Actually i could have cracked 2000 if it wasn't for an electronic error where the web app failed to display an image contained a crucial grid-in problem.

Today I took it again and I got 2020. But I made 6 really really dumb errors on grid-ins (comparing to 0 yesterday.) so that dropped my score by 100 or so.

Oh these scores don't count essays, so they assume you are writing a 5-6 essay. Well they actual grade it through some program but it seemed like a referral program for Sparknotes so I didn't want to go through the trouble.

Anyway I don't know where this thread is going, but I have to ask you guys: is this diagnostic score accurate? I think the practice test on there is pretty decent, so I hope I am at a good range right now.

My goal is to crack 2300 =) Must study more now!
