Glad to hear your applied to W&M.

Our policy for those currently in our applicant pool is not to offer “chances”. We’re only days/weeks from releasing regular decision notifications and thus you’ll know your chances very soon and at this point there’s nothing you can do to change your application based on whatever anyone posts to this thread. It may just cause more anxiety than you’re likely already feeling and who wants that?

Know that we considered every piece of information you provided from your SATs to your course selection to the competitive nature of your school (we know that over 80% of the students at Langley go on to four year schools so we understand the environment you’re in is incredibly high-achieving) to your background and everything in between.

For more on any applicant’s chances of admission and our process, check out our Admit It! Blog ([W&M Blogs Chance Me](http://blogs.wm.edu/2010/12/14/chance-me/))

Good luck!

Haha, sorry. Thanks then. It’s not really a matter of changing things. I mean, my course load and ECs have never been and means to an end, as cheesy as that sounds. I guess it’s just a certainty thing. It’s the economist in me. It does frighten me that Langley would have a reputation. Anyway, I will take your advice and just try to not worry about it in the meantime(I’ve started playing chess this year at school. It’s made me much happier :P).

thanks.

And, I did not realize ya’ll admissions staff looked at these, haha. Just dropped by on a whim. I thought it was just other applicants. Well, sorry again.
thanks.

No need to apologize. We just know that you’ll know your “chances” shortly so why speculate in the meantime?

Actually, many college reps are on CC along with prospective students, families, current students and alumni.

It shouldn’t frighten you that Langley has a reputation. We hope it reassures you that we a) review your application within the context of your school environment and b) that we are very familiar with your school and the strong students it produces.

Good luck!

Just because i like closure and disclosure, and people might look at this in the future. I was accepted. I have also been accepted into UVA, Wake Forest, and Michigan, in the mean time. Time for a visit!!

Congrats! You have lots of great options. That’s why we have intimated that April can bring its own stresses.

We encourage you to visit for Day for Admitted Students (you’ll get info about it in your admit pack). We hope you choose to enroll at W&M!

I was curious to see if you were accepted :). Thanks for the update and congratulations!!! You have some great options, and now including W & M!!!

It is fun to follow the CC posters throughout their search isn’t it?

one last thing: I was rejected from Cornell.
so my final results are…
reject: U Penn, U of Chicago, Wash U, Cornell
admit: W&M, UVA, Wake Forest, U of Michigan, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech.

I think I applied to the right set of schools, because I am having much trouble deciding where to go. :)

You have some great options. We certainly think W&M is the smart choice but we just encourage you to visit campuses and you’re gutt will tell you what to do.

As we’ve been saying, April brings its own kind of stress but it’s good, exciting stress
