Oh also I applied using their select candidate application, I'm not sure if this is a scam to get their applicant numbers up or not. Anyone know what the deal is?

ur definitely in for hofstra and u have a good chance of getting into the honors college-is hofstra ur first choice?

I agree with donkeykong. I think that you can expect a nice merit award from Hofstra too.

I agree - your stats and EC's are great. Good luck!

Thanks! I'm just so nervous to hear back from everywhere! I've never visited but I've heard it's really pretty. Anyways thanks for your input, everyone!

why do you bother to start this thread. If you remotely anything about the school, you know its standards are way low, are your stats are pretty high. Are you honestly worried enough about not getting into hofstra that you needed to be chanced!?

Um, actually Hofstra is a pretty good school with nice SAT scores. To use your words, if you are honestly worried that I am wasting time with this thread, why did you respond? As I stated above, I am nervous and second-guessing myself after seeing a lot of other profiles from other students that are basically cookie-cutter Ivy League. So, sorry if I bothered you, but you didn't have to reply if you don't want to.

You should deff get in
i have a 3.093 gpa an 1610 sat
i got defered =/ i find out first week in march so yeah
not to sure if ill be going there any more
im probably going to marist college now

Marist is a great school. I heard that a lot of the students at Hofstra are commuters, so I don't know if I'll go there.
