Gpa isn't great, 3.42 I think? This years semester is 4.25, with a college level class and one honors. I wrote amazing essays, strong recs, and my alumni interview went pretty well I think. I made it clear in the interview that the only reason my ECs/gpa weren't great is because I've had to work extensively throughout high school. I really want to get in for their neuroscience program.

Hello! I'm glad to see that your applying through questbridge (I applied, but was selected for questbridge). I think that when they see your questbridge app., that will increase your chances. I was accepted ED1 and my SATs and GPA were very similar to yours (my math was wayy lower). If your essays and rec's are as great as you say, this is even better. Also, they say that they look at minority applicants more closely.

Im a lot like you, in that I worked A LOT in high school (30 hours a week), more than most of our peers I'm sure. They will notice your hard work and put that into consideration with the rest of your application.

I think you have a good chance. Let me know how you do!

Thanks! Yeah, I kinda think I have a decent shot, and I really do like the idea of attending Oberlin, it sounds like such a great community to be in. My number one, and ED2 choice, is Pomona College, but I'm pretty sure Oberlin comes right after that(it's a hard choice). If Oberlin was in California I think it could easily be my top choice. I doubt I'll get into Pomona though, it's so hard and my scores are nothing like what they want, just kinda crossing my fingers for it.
