<p>It says 500 words, and I did about 625.... is this an issue or is it just a guideline to stay around the 500? I'm not sure I can cut any parts out...

<p>I’ve heard from various things from a lot of people. Some say 500 words is a guideline, but my AP English teacher this year was adamant that our common app essays needed to be 500 words long. So I’m not really sure myself. I’m sure there have been times where the application just cuts your essay off at some point, so make sure you click the print preview button to make sure it’s all there before you submit it.</p>
