Congrats to both! What a great acheivement! Are you going to attend or are you waiting on other schools?

Congrats - I think you will really enjoy the experience. One of the things you've probably already found is how friendly the other HTCers are.

Im waiting on a few other schools, and those decisions wont be out untill late March/early April, so Ive got some time to think it over. As of right now its pretty high on the list simply for the value of such a great education with instate tuition, and ive already received a gateway scholarship, so that helps too...especially compared to the $45k liberal arts colleges that ive also applied to...

to everyone who's heard about HTC, where do you live? Ilive in Mass. and am still anxiously awaiting a letter from HTC Journalism.

JG: HTC or not, the Scripps School of Journalism is consistently ranked in the top 10 (or even top 5) undergrad journalism programs in the nation. Congrats on acceptance into the program.

i was accepted a few days ago to arts and sciences....the campus visit will make or break whether or not i go to school there.

My child was w/l as #1 for HTC Journalism with incredible stats. A big disappointment. Does anyone know if there is really a chance of getting in (even with the w/l rank of #1)?

1 sounds good. I suspect that since Scripps is a very popular major for HTC applicants that they just had too many. I have no idea how the waitlist works, but it will depend obviously on whether any other acceptee for HTC/Journalism goes to another school.

Automatically accepted into Scripps School of Journalism as a consolation. Also accepted to Univ of Missouri.

Can anyone compare the two?

just heard from HTC, I'm in!

pairodocks: at least one person will probably go somewhere else, so your child probably has a good shot.

JG: HOOORAY!!!!!So will you go?

pairodocks: Missouri tops OU in journalism, so you will have great choices no matter what happens with the waitlist..

I am sending in my sheet saying I am going. I have decided that no matter what I get for fin. aid I can always take out loans and it's worth it for HTC, so I'm going.

I can't believe people are saying top engineers go to OU...stop lyng to make the college look better. sure strong students go here, but the top dont flock to OU for engineering. yea for journalism and film and maybe some HTC majors, but not engineering.

CollegeBound? - I recognize the attitude, as when you called the person who wanted to homeschool senior year "a loser."

If you think that choosing a college is a matter of going to USNWR and finding the highest number, I feel sorry for you. This is a complex formula of majors, faculty, fit and feel of the campus, distance from home, finances and scholarships, and so much more.

If you expect to succeed in what's called life, you will need to get off that high horse on which you think you sit.

Now, back to the topic....

digimedia - ditto

ok look, im not bashing OU
im just saying it is not one of the top engineering programs in the country, or even the state of Ohio. Case, UC, OSU, NOrthern and probly others have much stronger programs.
OU offers a lot of good things such as HTC programs, film, journalism, alcohol, etc. but I do not feel that engineering is one of their top majors. I have heard good things about physical therapy as well.

My apologies for all I have offended,
And maybe i do need to get off my high horse, we all learn our lessons
