Anyone have parents who're die-hard partisans of a certain religion but you are atheist/agnostic?

I know several intelligent people that are. So what?

Please don't turn this thread into a debate.

Actually, it's the other way around. For my dad, at least.

Just a warning before this turns to another one of CC's infamous 300,000 page debate thread about religion, I'm not asking this to start an argument but to get a sense of how many people are in the same boat as I am.

My parents are insanely religious Christians and have forched religion down my throat from a very early age. I didn't rebel, per se, but I am an atheist now. The fact that people can read the Bible as non-fiction befuddles me and I am wary of the people who can blindly follow what others (priests, pastors, rabbis, etc.) tell them without their own research. ***These are my personal beliefs and I am NOT trying to start an argument; my intention is not to offend and I hope no one takes this post as such.

Wow, thanks for replying. I assumed I was alone seeing as the thread sort of faded into oblivion. I guess it died so as to avoid arguments and that's understandable.

Either that, or there are a lot of religious people on CC.

Lol you idiot you're not supposed to state your beliefs. OP wanted to just do a head count.
Good job. I wouldn't be surprised if this turns into a religious debate because of you.

We've resorted to name-calling? Alright, someone please lock this thread.

Well my parents turned into athiests but thier parents were very religious
