anything but finance at stern?!

hello there,
I got into the stern scholars program, and I am seriously considering attending the school.

however, my anticipated majors are management and marketing.. I know NYU is extremely well-respected for its outstanding finance program, but I was wondering how these majors are perceived.

How are the job prospects after graduating stern with a degree in management and/or marketing?

According to my roommate, she can't think of anyone off the top of her head who's a straight management or marketing major. However, she says the internship programs are pretty good - there are many unique opportunities in the city. If you have a good GPA and good experience, when you graduate you'll be seen as a student from a good school and shouldn't have much trouble finding a job.

most people go in with a mindset that they are going to do finance, but when they feel that they can't handle it, they drop and go into management, marketing, statistics...... many people also double major in one of these along with finance. But by far i think the most popular "double major" is finance and international business. I'm sure you should do fine for yourself even if you major in marketing or management.

bump... is being a finance major substantially increase your job potential/income as opposed to being a management or marketing major?

I know its not all about money, but after all its a business school! :-)
