Hello everyone. I am a rising senior and I am worried that I will not be busy enough this summer to apply to top colleges like Princeton and Columbia. I want to study Physics in college but have not yet taken an AP Physics class in High School. However I have read books on the subject and believe that I know enough to try to find a minor research position. Can anyone help me find something productive to do this summer that would be looked on favorably by the colleges that I want to apply to? I live in Tampa, Florida, so I have several universities near me. Is it plausible to look for a position as a research aide at a university? Thanks to anyone that responds :)

I would recommend just being you. Go out and do community service if you would like (always looks good on applications), but don’t try to organize your life to make it look like you are passionate in a subject. Go have fun! It is one of the last times that you will have the opportunity to be free for an entire summer.
Good luck!
