====AP AB Calculus Discussion====

Who's taking it? How long have you been studying? Are you taking the course?

Personally, I am self studying, have gotten a decent grasp of 1/2 of the material (up to, but not including integrals), and am taking this as a self-study. It'll be interesting to see it I can learn basically 2/3 of it in one night!

This person right here is!!! To tell you the truth, i am sooooo nervous it’s not even funny. I have been studying since late March, but the FRQ’s will kill me if they are like the 2007 FRQ’s because those were pretty hard. I need to learn all the rules, even the small stuff. I am smashing all the information from the 2011-2006 (skipping 2007 of course) FRQ’s–even the Part B–stuff hoping that it will save my butt for the real thing.
I have faith in you that you’ll be successful. Let’s just hope for the best on Wednesday! :)

I’m taking the exam tomorrow and I’m currently in the course. If you go on AP pass, it’s pretty amazing how poorly you could do, but still end up with a 5. For that reason, I’m just going to start studying now as I feel that my teacher has sufficiently prepared me for the exam just by being in class and keeping up with the homework. Good luck to everyone taking the exam tomorrow. From practice tests, I have noticed that a lot of the questions/ concepts repeat from year to year.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow, and lets hope that we all pass.

what is an integral? lol… im screwed

I’ve been getting like 70%+ on the FRQs and at least 85%+ on the multiple choice, so I’m not sweating it too much since I need like a 65% to get a 5. =P

Lol if you don’t know what an integral is just skip the test and sleep in or study for your other tests

Agreed. The concept of integration, and its applications, takes a while to learn. Don’t expect to get a 5.

Figured it out! Haha I actually taught myself the concept just by looking at a few problems. I am willing to make a bet with someone that I will get at least a four on the exam.

this may be just me, but I’ve been doing the practice free fresponse sections from college board’s website…are those like really hard or am I just really screwed? I’ve done the 2010 and 2011 parts A and B

well I looked at 2011’s. didnt feel like doing it

Yeah, they are pretty challenging. Especially #4 and 5 on the 2011 one. Those always get to me. I am stressing the 2011 part A and B mainly because of the recent stuff that seems harder than previous years (except 2007…)

I’m taking this too tomorrow! I feel pretty prepared though especially since my teacher has been reviewing for almost a month.

I think most of free responses from the 2011 and 2010 are about the same difficulty as the other previous years.

I’m taking it tomorrow too. I just hope the FRQs are doable. Or I’ll cry lol.

Taking it tomorrow…
I feel ready for it!
Good luck to everybody taking it!
Remember all your derivatives and integrals!
Does anybody know what’s the lowest one can score to get a passing grade? Just wondering…I feel like I can get at least a 4.

Best of luck to you all! What a difficult class and I hope you all receive great scores!

How’d it feel guys?

Not too bad, actually.

the curve will probably be higher. I’m guessing 71-73 for a 5.

Why is the curve gonna be higher?
