Hey,
I read on richmonds site that their average freshman has an A- in extremely rigorous courses. I will have a 3.65 (or a 91) average with 2 AP's and 1 honors course for my junior year. Is that good for richmond? What do they consider "Extremely rigorous"? Regardless of my scores, do you think I would get in for ED? Thanks, John.

Johns - Take a look at the Freshman profile on the UR Admissions page and see how you stack up. UR does look at more than grades. Grades and strength of schedule are important but your EC’s are important and you essay is important. I think (I have no inside scoop on this) that they would rather see dedication to a couple EC’s than a laundry list of things you have dabbled in. Your essay is your big opportunity to sell yourself. Make sure it shows that you are the kind of person that they want. Good luck! UR is a great school. Keep us updated on your decision making process! There are a lot of helpful people that will post here. All of us do have one thing in common: We don’t like the “chancing” thing. I understand why people do it but it is a great way to keep good students from applying because someone from Duluth said you didn’t have a chance. It’s also a great way to get someone’s hopes up because they have great grades and that’s all that matters anywhere. Do your research but don’t rely on a bunch of strangers to decide your future!

I had a 28 act and 3.1 GPA and got a likely letter because i had great ECs and Essays.
