Have you all gotten your AP Award cetificates in the mail?
I know it is mailed separatedly from the results.

These are scheduled to be sent in Sept. I am not sure if they are sent to the school or to the home---it may depend on what grade you are in (e.g., already graduated = may be sent home).

This is torture! How long does it take to mail them!?!?!?!?!! I hate College Board, it just will never let me rest in peace!

It's just a certificate. You don't need to get it to know whether you got the award (excluding state scholar.) Personally, I just count myself lucky collegeboard doesn't charge us for them.

Yes, that's true.

The certificates came in the mail in HI today, Oct. 3 for tests taken May 2006.

My son received his in the mail yesterday.

i got the "AP scholar award." can you and should you actually put this under awards on your college applications?

Yes, you can list these AP awards on your college apps--they at least have national definitions as to what each award means & some national recognition of the AP program. Those kids who took AP exams in the spring of their senior year & have matriculated at colleges are also receiving these awards. For example, the AP state scholar, AP national scholar & AP scholar with distinction. These can be listed on your resume under awards/honors as well, to whatever importance the interviewer/reviewer places on such designations..

Nothing here in PA yet.

Nothing in Ohio yet. The envelope was postmarked Sept. 21st last year.

Are the certificates sent only after you complete your high school education, or every year that you qualify? For example, if you qualify for AP Scholar with Distinction at the end of junior year, do they send that once you've completed all tests at the end of senior year, or at the beginning (approx. Sept.?) of senior year?

Sorry if this is a basic question. I don't know anyone who has gotten one of these certificates before....

You get the certificate in the fall after your May exams for whatever you qualify for. My S got one last year, beginning of senior year. He got more this year, while he's a freshman in college for APs he took in May of Sr. year.

Still haven't gotten mine in FL. I should have AP Scholar with Distinction.
I hate waiting.

It feels like all senior year is, is waiting...

My S listed the awards he KNEW he was receiving on his apps, even before he had the paper "in hand." When he got additional awards beyond those, we sent the colleges a supplement, updating them on those additional awards & letting them know he was still VERY interested in attending their Us.

My daughter got hers in Texas on Monday.

For those wondering, looks like the letter went out a week later this year than last. Daughter (now a freshman in college) received hers at home address today. Letter included all certificates with exception of AP State Scholar, which is apparently presented in a formal ceremony with the State Dept of Education.

Yeah, I wonder how that gets done, seeing as how most of the AP State Scholars are likely freshmen in college & often out of state. Maybe they'll wait until winter break?

still havent gotten mine (CA)

Haven't gotten mine yet either in PA.
