AP Bio entry level book

Hey guys,
I am self studying AP Bio this year and wanted some advice. I already have a substantial background through my challenging biology freshman course.
I already have Cliffs, but I feel as if I need something a bit simpler first.
This year i took the SAT Bio M and got an 800 on it, and I felt my success was due to the fact that I used PR which was a bit more basic and allowed me to have a nice detailed base, then I used barron's for all of the minute details to guarantee a high score.
I want to take a similar approach to the AP test.
I view Cliffs as the barron's in this case.

My question is what book would you guys consider the PR in this case?

Sorry if this is confusing, just ask if you need clarification on anything.
Thanks in advance!

I got a 3 this year which was depressing since all my other AP exams are 4 or 5. Be wary of reading comprehension sort of similar to act science but a lot more reading. Most of it you can skim. Cliffs is great.don’t let the fact that’s only 5% got a 5 this year discourage you. Good luck,

I would try to analyze the material in the books and connect topics after learning the material, something the guides don’t usually do. That way, you’ll be fine for the exam. Maybe look over some example grid-ins. Don’t let the guides do everything for you. I earned a 5 on the exam, if that means anything.

Remember, it is always better to learn the material than learn the test for later on in life.
