AP Bio - Help with memorization?

I've always had a knack for bio, and I love my AP Bio class, but with the subjects that are less interesting to me (such as ecology), I usually forget A LOT after we take the in class unit test. It's not so much a problem with subjects I actually have a passion for (such as anatomy and physiology), but I still tend to forget things after the tests.

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions of how to improve my memory when it comes to studying AP Bio? I feel like I have a natural knack for understanding the concepts, just sometimes holes appear when I forget some terms, one step in a process like Kreb's, etc.

I really appreciate any help you can give me! I really love AP Bio and really want to prove myself and get a 5. :)

EDIT: I also think it's important to mention... My AP Bio class as a whole is filled with procrastinators, and a lot of people seriously underestimate how difficult AP Bio actually is. So study groups never seem to work out, because people are "too busy to study". So I'm pretty much on my own, especially since my parents have very limited knowledge in science. My AP Bio class actually has a 65 test average... Which is very concerning. I'm not sure if it's our teacher and the tests he gives, but I honestly believe that it's our job as students to pretty much suck it and and study harder. I'm just not sure what to do.

Use pneumonic devices or w/e they’re called XD repeat repeat repeat. Dont’ start memorzing the day before the test!

I find that understanding the Latin and Greek roots of the words is very helpful in figuring out what they mean. If you understand it, you don’t have to memorize it. Does your teacher or book help with that?

Do we have to memorize how to draw all of the cycles and chemical structures?
