Hello.
When studying for AP Bio exam, I often face diffculty with lack of maintaining the concepts and vocabularies that I memorized few days ago. I want to last them longer, but it seems that my memorization technique is weak. I want to know what are your memorization techniques and also skills to connect different conceps in accordance with the 8 themes of biology.

I’m a very visual, process-oriented person. I have a photographic memory for maps. Instead of memorizing facts, I focused on understanding biological processes and how they unfold. Campbell has good diagrams to help with that.

I got a 5 on the exam because the curve is very friendly. You don’t need to know everything.

Try using quizlet, the flashcard site. I find it very useful in memorization, it drills the information into your head and has alternative features that allows you to memorize vocabulary.

Try thinking of memory tricks to help you remember specific information. Things like “eight and eight went to the store to buy Nintendo 64” helped me remember that 8x8=64 way back in third grade. For Biology I remember that a lenticel facilitated gas exchange through the bark in plants because the word sounded like “let-in-cell.” You can also just get good [AP biology notes](http://etestnotes.com/apreviewguides/courseselect.html) to help you remember everything.
