Hey guys! I’m a sophomore at the moment and tomorrow I get to organize my junior year schedule.
I have organized two separate two year plans, one involves AP Bio and one has AP Chem.
I can only take ONE of those APs. I am planning to pursue veterinary studies, I want to know which of those is better for veterinary studies.
Please please please help me out ASAP I have been clueless as to which one to take because I love both subjects a lot and they would both be equally challenging for me.
AP Bio if only one. Would be good to work both in between now and graduation, but if only one, AP Bio. I assume you are taking chem and physics at some point?
Why can’t you take one junior year & one senior year? You have to have both for vet school anyway (and may have to take them again in college, depending on the pre-reqs for the vet schools you apply to- some won’t accept APs as fulfilling the pre-reqs). Fwiw, current thinking is that it is easier to go from chem to bio.
My schedule can’t fit both of them in because my school makes us take Physics (which I understand why) but since we have to take Physics I can’t fit AP Chem with AP Bio because AP Chem takes up two class hours at my school. I am taking normal Chemistry currently and senior year I am taking AP Physics- Mechanics.
my opinion? pick the teacher. the better teacher - even if they have a reputation for also being strict / demanding will prepare you better, both for the material (which you will need if you stay with the vet path) and for the demands of college level work.
