Freshman year, I took biology honors and I took chem honors through Florida Virtual School. I also took Algebra 2 and MAC1105 (Dual enrollment).
I’m debating whether I should take AP Biology or AP Chemistry (or both). I’m also taking AP World History this year. My original plan was to take AP Biology this year and take AP Chem junior year, but I’m not sure if I should take a gap year or not.
are you home schooled? I think it depends on your future goals. You should also try to do the AP the same school year you have the school course in
Which one did you struggle with more or have a harder time memorizing? Take that one first. That way, there’s less of a gap between taking the honors level and the AP.
I struggled with chemistry more, but i’m not sure if I should take AP Chem next year since it’s one of the hardest classes
You could drop one of them and take a different science. I just decided to go with APES and AP Physics 1. If you want to take AP chem and bio, I’d do chem first, because you need a lot of the stuff from regular chemistry. Don’t do them in the same year.
in our school here biology is offered before chemistry so almost all students do ap biology before ap chemistry.Needs some chemistry. Also APs dont get you college admission. more is not better.
or take Physics now and either AP Bio or AP Chem later. What do you want to major in in college?
My D also said it’s easier to take AP Bio if you’ve had AP Chem 1st. She used a fair amount of info learned in AP Chem in order to understand the material in AP Bio. She said that you can do AP Bio first, it will just be harder for you.
Take honors physics (or AP physics 1). Then AP Bio and AP chem, unless you’re not using for a student major in which case AP bio and APES is totally fine.
