AP Bio or regular Physics for Junior year?

Okay, I know most of you are going to scream 'AP Bio!' right off the bat simply because it's an AP class...but here's the dilemma.

I'm going to be a junior next year and my dream school is Emory. Right now my GPA is around a 3.8 and I'm a sophomore. This is my schedule so far:

AP World History
Reg. Physics
Introduction to Philosophy (required religion course)
Algebra 2
Mandarin 2 Honors
Either Studio Art or Photography (any suggestions?)
AP English Lang
SELF STUDY: AP Psych and potentially APES

Yep, I have two APs and one honors. I'm starting off slow so I can see if I can handle it or not (because my planned senior schedule is pretty rigorous...all APs and honors except for reg. Calculus because I'll take AP Stat too). However, I know that junior year is the most important and I want to make a good impression on colleges...so should I replace Physics with AP Bio?

I know that an AP class looks better than a regular class, but I took regular Bio as a freshman and I want to sample all three of the sciences before choosing which one to take as an AP for senior year. I'm 95% sure I'll be taking AP Physics B as a senior anyway, but...I hate Bio so much! It's all memorization, whereas I loved Chemistry and I think I'll love Physics, too. Also, my boyfriend is a senior going into Physics (he was absent during a large portion of his sophomore year due to injury and had to repeat Chemistry next year) and I want to spend one last class with him before he graduates. I know that my love life shouldn't affect my class choices but I don't know...what would you recommend?

Can you take APbchem?

I don’t like biology either, although I did well in that class. I’m currently taking AP physics B, and if you are planning on taking it senior year I would advise you to take the regular physics so that you are better prepared for it.

But most of all, take the classes that you like. It’s your decision, and if you see a future for yourself that doesn’t include biology, I wouldn’t take AP bio just for the AP credit.

I absolutely loved chemistry too, and took physics. Similar in their approaches, so you should enjoy physics if you can handle Chem.

Good luck :)

I can take AP Chem as a senior.

If I take AP Bio as a junior, I’m taking AP Physics B for sure as a senior.
If I take Physics as a junior, I’ll choose between AP Chem or AP Physics B.

And good point IceSparrow!
