I’m going to be a junior next year and I’m currently debating on what class to take between AP Biology and AP Physics 1. I want to major in business at a top 30 school and I want to get my rank up before college applications during my senior year. AP Physics 1 is known as the hardest class at my school and everybody has been telling me how difficult it is. I wanted to take AP Biology because I took Pre-AP Biology freshman year and got the best grades in a science course my whole academic career. Physics used to be a required course at my school district but it’s not anymore and I have not taken it yet. My counselors have been telling me that Physics is highly recommended and colleges would like to see me have taken it and I don’t know what to do. HELP PLEASE!!
I’d recommend you take Physics. Even though your last district didn’t care if you had it, college’s like to see a year of Physics, Chemistry, AND Biology. Plus, you have to learn how to challenge yourself when you get to a tough class. Especially if it’s something required in college. Also make sure for Physics 1 to know basic trig! Good luck!
I would take a Physics (Honors or AP Physics) this year…and then an AP science next year for a top school.
