AP Bio

how hard is AP bio if I did honors bio last year and am doing honors chem the same year as AP bio?

It depends on your teacher - their rigor, the amount of material they cover, how they grade, etc.

Not really hard if you already had Biology. You'll know a large percentage of the material.

It's called the easiest of the AP's for a reason. Most people have already taken bio beforehand and, well, it's not that bad! But a sucky teacher can make or break it for you.

It's not a problem. I did the same thing as you, and AP Bio turned out to be my easiest class that year.

I did that last year "Jibber", AP Bio is not hard at all, its just memorzation!! Most of the stuff you learned you covered it in honors biology so you should be good this year!!

As I said before, there is no need to take a lower level when you're aiming for AP. You should have taken AP biology before instead of Honors. My school doesn't require things like that.

Our school would go berserk if that happened. It would wallow in a state of armaggedon.

Well at my school it is required that you take an honors course before taking an AP course (such as honors bio before Ap BIO, honors chem before AP CHEM)..

The test itself really isn't that hard. I just spent some quality time with a prep book the weekend before the test. Most of the topics will be review; you just got into more details.

However, the difficulty of handling AP Bio and honors chem at the same time depends entirely on your teachers for those classes.

i had honors bio freshman year and took ap bio senior year and got a 5 on the exam...but i also had an excellent teacher

I had honors bio as a freshman and am taking ap bio this year(junior year), but I don't remember all that much from freshman year, do you think it'll come back once we talk about it in class?

I'm taking AP bio and AP chem at the same time (along with honors physics, and anatomy) and it's been fine so far, but just to reiterate, it DEFINITELY depends on the school you're in. The honors bio will help, especially if it was a comprehensive or molecular-focused class.

ElRey - if you still have your stuff, go over your old notes and you'll probably remember a lot. Even if you're shabby, it certainly won't be like re-learning the material and a review should get you up to speed without issue.

I slept through AP Bio and got a 5 on the exam, but I have an extensive science background.
I thought the class was pretty easy though (the parts I was awake during were, anyway)

at my school there is a correlation between your grades in honors chem and ap bio because the first semester is very chemistry intensive. basically if you got an A in honors chem, you have a 75% chance of getting an A in ap bio.

Took AP Bio and general chem at the same time last year. Got a better grade in AP Bio...
